Not Ready for Prime Time DS
« on: November 03, 2006, 06:04:28 AM »
If DS were to be resurrected as a Saturday Night Live skit, who should take the starring roles?

So far I have Rowan Atkinson as Barnabas and Anna Nicole Smith as Angelique.

Ideas?    [hall2_grin]

I'll take Rowan Atkinson and Martin Short as anything.     Baldrick=Willie?    EdGrimley=Willie?    Hugh Laurie as George=Roger?

Time warping back to the 70's...

John Belushi:  One of the Trasks - I can easily see him rolling his eyes from side to side looking pious.

Chevy Chase:  Quentin - stumbling around with his brandy snifter.

Bill Murray: Willie

Jane Curtin: Elizabeth

Dan Ackroyd: Rodger - I think he could do a great snob.

Gilda Radner: Vicki - because she could act so clueless.

Brilliant! Wish I'd thought of it - she was great with goofy little girl scenarios.

I was also going to try to work Don Novello's Father Guido in somehow but, he was like the anti-Trask IMO (maybe they could have had a clerical smack-down or something).  I just love that character...especially his Find the Popes ina the Pizza sketch.

One last comment - wouldn't Toonces the Driving Cat have been just THE purrrrrrfect pet for Collinwood? Everyone hop in the limo and Toonces could take them for a drive - right off Widow's Hill!

OMG - I forgot all about Toonces. Toonces would definitely take everyone for a drive off Widows' Hill!  [lghy]

Chevy Chase:  Quentin - stumbling around with his brandy snifter.
This is getting a little bit off topic, but Chevy Chase guests on Law & Order tonight in what's being billed as his first dramatic role. It's loosely based on Mel Gibson's DUI arrest. Then again, I guess seeing how Chase handles this could affect some of the responses in this thread.  [hall2_smiley]

If a sketch were being done with the most recent cast, this is who I think would play:

Fred Armisen= Nicholas
Rachel Dratch= Angelique
Tina Fey= Victoria
Will Forte= Willie
Bill Hader= Roger
Darrell Hammond= Stokes
Seth Meyers= Chris/Tom
Finesse Mitchel= Joe
Chris Parnell= Barnabas
Amy Poehler= Carolyn
Maya Rudolph= Maggie
Andy Samberg= Julia
Horatio Sanz= Sam
Jason Sudeikis= Jeff
Kenan Thompson= Elizabeth
Kristen Wiig= Victoria

How about Jim Belushi as Garth Blackwood or Joe Piscopo as Harry Johnson?

SNL has sucked as of late so I haven't watched it in YEARS. But...

What about Michael McDonald who plays Stuart on MadTV as David? And the lady that plays his mother could be Vicki lol. Or Maggie.
