This show caught my eye based on the commercials alone, and I had thought about watching it. Based on what you've posted here, I might give it a try. In reading the TV Guide article in your last post, it seems like Nancy Drew on the CW is also going to possess some supernatural elements, so I'm wondering how that show will fare in this new TV season.

"Based on TVLine’s annual Fall TV Premiere Polls, this is how they ranked (broken down within letter grade by our top-secret and proprietary mathematical algorithm):
1. Evil (average reader grade “B+”)
2. Prodigal Son “B+”
3. Emergence “B+”
4. Stumptown “B+”
5. The Unicorn “B”

9. Bluff City Law “B-“
10. Sunnyside “C+”
11. Bob Hearts Abishola “C+”
12. Carol’s Second Act “C”
Our world-class Fall TV Premiere Polls also measure the respondents’ intent to watch a second episode of the sampled shows. Fox’s Prodigal Son topped that list with 94 percent planing to stay tuned, followed closely by Evil and Emergence. The prospect for retention is far less promising for the noobs in the bottom three: Sunnyside and Bob Hearts Abishola (with 70 percent planning to stick around), and then Carol’s Second Act (just 68 percent)."

177 Minutes (Season 1 | Episode 2)
10:00PM
Kristen, David and Ben are called to investigate a supposed miracle when Naomi Clark, a 17-year-old soccer player, comes back to life after she had been declared dead for almost two hours. Also, Kristen meets with her former boss, Lewis Cormier, at the Queens District Attorney's office, where she runs into Leland Townsend.
-
Worth Watching:
Evil (10/9c, CBS): The night's most intriguing drama shifts gears from quasi-horror to religious debate when a 17-year-old athlete suddenly revives after being declared dead for nearly three hours. Is it a miracle — and for skeptical Kristen (Katja Herbers), what would that even mean?‑or merely malpractice? And what do those apparent angel wings on the ER video signify? Beyond the investigation, Kristen and priest-in-training partner David (Mike Colter) each grapple with personal demons: hers involves another disturbing visit from "night terror" ghoul George (Marti Matulis), while David's visions have a more familiar but equally troubling source. And their nemesis, Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson), has found a new way to mock and torment them, when he assumes Kristen's former position as a forensic psychologist.

Fall TV Ratings: Which New Shows Are Enjoying the Beefiest DVR Gains? (https://tvline.com/2019/10/07/new-fall-tv-show-ratings-biggest-dvr-playback-increases/)
"Among percentage gainers — where dramas that close out a night tend to rate highest, because sleep is awesome — Stumptown‘s series premiere fully doubled its rating, from a 0.7 to a 1.4. CBS’ Evil followed, growing 83 percent to a 1.1, while ABC’s Emergence was a distant third, rising 63 percent to a 1.3."
"In actual gains, Stumptown led the pack with an increase of 0.7 ratings points. Evil, Emergence and Prodigal Son each grew by 0.5, while the rest of the freshman class added 0.4 or less."
"Now, for those who like to look at total audience, Stumptown and Emergence enjoyed the largest percent gains in total viewers (77 percent), followed by Evil (58 percent) and Prodigal Son (54 percent). On the low end of that spectrum, Bob Hearts Abishola only grew its audience by 19 percent, while Bless the Harts mustered a mere 13 percent uptick."
"In Live+3, Carol’s Second Act was the most watched freshman debut with a total audience of nearly 8 million, followed closely by Stumptown (7.9 mil), All Rise (7.7 mil), The Unicorn (7.7 mil), Evil (7.2 mil) and Emergence (7.1 mil). At the very bottom of that pack were Sunnyside (2.55 mil) and Bless the Harts (2.1 mil)."

10:00PM
A high-strung theater producer's behavior turns from demanding to what is believed to be demonic, and Kristen, David and Ben are called in to assess the situation. Also, Kristen discredits her DA office successor and nemesis, Leland Townsend, before he can ruin a 17-year-old boy's life.

Worth Watching: (https://www.tvinsider.com/821604/whats-on-tv-thursday-october-10/)
Evil (10/9c, CBS): You can learn a lot about different forms of possession from this provocative paranormal procedural, which assigns Kristen (Katja Herbers), David (Mike Colter) and Ben (Aasif Mandvi) to investigate a case of "everyday evil" — with a lower-case "e" — involving the antics of a belligerent Broadway producer (the great character actor John Glover). When it's discovered he's actually been "sweating blood" during his latest rants, they debate whether this could be an example of diabolical obsession. Or is someone gaslighting this boorish brute? Kristen has another antagonist to deal with: malevolent Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson), who's setting out to undo all of her good work in the courtroom, and it's up to her to discredit the fiend — who's also somehow found his taunting way inside David's tormented mind.
-
Fast Overnights:
"Evil took its first dip in the demo this Thursday, scoring a 0.5 rating to go with its 3.7 million total viewers."
Though given how well we know the show is doing once DVR ratings are added in, this dip may not mean much, especially opposite football. Only time will tell...

His worried parents fear young Eric is possessed by a demon who seeks to harm them and their new baby. Is an exorcism required? Or could there be environmental causes? On the home front, Kristen is worried for her four rambunctious daughters after they get caught up in a macabre game projected in the VR devices their grandmother (Christine Lahti) foolishly brought home.

Worth Watching: ..., an 'Evil' Halloween to Remember, ... (https://www.tvinsider.com/825925/whats-on-tv-thursday-october-24/)
Evil (10/9c, CBS): "Do you want to do something really scary?" Let me rephrase that: Do you want to see something really scary? The quote, spoken by a mysterious little girl in a Halloween mask, is an invitation to watch one of the creepiest hours of TV so far this fall season‑and unquestionably the scariest episode to date of this macabre exploration of faith-vs-science, which was just renewed for a second season. (The first season of 13 episodes will wrap Jan. 30.) The centerpiece is a grueling Halloween-night exorcism, fueling a debate between wannabe priest David (Mike Colter) and psychology-oriented Kristen (Katja Herbers) about whether the victim is actually possessed or if the exorcism may be exacerbating an already disturbed mental state. (Either way, the scenes are terrifying.) On a lighter and more satirical note, professional debunker Ben (Aasif Mandvi) tags along with a Ghost Hunters-like TV team to poke holes in their latest investigation — of a haunted strip club. But the most lingering chills involve Kristen's four daughters, who spend their Halloween playing spooky games that become all too surreal. Why, you may wonder, does Kristen keep leaving her kids with their irresponsible grandma, Sheryl (a very amusing Christine Lahti)? But even Sheryl is about to have her own encounter with evil, the sort of moment that leaves you impatient for the next episode.

This setback has David rethinking his vocation to the priesthood, and it doesn't help when he gets close to his defense lawyer (Hamilton Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry). Worth Watching: (https://www.tvinsider.com/844279/whats-on-tv-wednesday-january-1/)
Evil (8/7c, CBS): As a mini-primer to one of the fall's best new series, CBS repeats three episodes in a prime-time block, starting with the pilot episode that introduced the spiritual investigation team of Kristen (Katja Herbers), a skeptical forensic psychologist, priest-in-training assessor David (Mike Colter) and pragmatic Ben (Aasif Mandvi). In the premiere, they investigate whether a serial killer (Darren Pettie) is as possessed as he seems. Then they move on to a possible miracle, when a young athlete comes back to life after being declared dead. And then it's back to a demonic enigma, when they're assigned to assess a temperamental theater producer (the great John Glover). Adding menace throughout: Michael Emerson as Leland Townsend, Kirsten's persistent nemesis.

On the provocative Evil, also in its last month of episodes (though already renewed for a second season), David (Mike Colter) is recovering from his wounds suffered during a surprise attack. While in his hospital bed, the priest-in-training fights off the presence of death in what promises to be some freaky visions. (The guest cast includes a ghoul doctor, nurse and orderlies.)

Evil (10/9c, CBS): Nearing its own first-season finale, Evil reaches back to its season opener, reintroducing the chilling killer Orson Leroux (Darren Pettie), who's trying to get his conviction overturned with the help of the malevolent Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson). This forces Kristen (Katja Herbers) to go back into court at the worst possible time, as her daughter Laura (Dalya Knapp) is undergoing emergency heart surgery. Back on the fighting-evil job front, a recovering David (Mike Colter) — having survived last week's terrifying ordeal in the hospital — visits a woman seeking spiritual advice and is shaken after witnessing her less-than-pure instincts.

i love the married couple who created this show so i had to give this show a chance when it first came out. i love the good wife and i haven't really watched the good fight just yet, but i love this show it took a few episodes for me to get into it as it started out pretty weak at least i think so or rather i just could not make up my mind on the show. but i am loving it so far, it's just a shame they only are doing 13 this season i wonder how many episodes they are doing next season as it's already been renewed shockingly for season 2.
i say it like that cause most of the time when i want a new show to get renewed it just gets Cancelled.

Worth Watching: ..., 'Evil' Finale, ... (https://www.tvinsider.com/909690/whats-on-tv-thursday-january-30/)
Evil (10/9c, CBS): On the other end of the entertainment spectrum, yet equally memorable, is Robert and Michelle King's (The Good Wife/Fight) clever and chilling examination of the forces manipulating and encouraging our darkest demons in a world of tested faith. In the first-season finale — thankfully, Evil has already been renewed — a mystery at a fertility clinic reveals connections among all of the creepy encounters that forensic psychologist Kristen (Katja Herbers) has experienced this season with would-be priest David (Mike Colter) and professional skeptic Ben (Aasif Mandvi). Kristen even begins wondering about the evil that may lie within one of her daughters, who is found to have visited the clinic.
