No offense, Julia99, but apart from all the romanticizing that goes on here regarding B & J, seriously, this is not a match made in heaven  :P

Not to quibble but I think Angelique is much more patholigical than Julia.  .Julia never forces B's hand --and honestly, he works just as hard to keep Julia in his sight too (watch in a few days when Tom, the first among many, abuses Julia. .B is not a happy man about it al all, rather frightened by the prospect of losing her. . .)  But its just a fiction and most fictional relationships are not "healthy" hence the "drama" and why we watch. . . :-*

I'm sympathetic toward BC.  If I had spent nearly 200 years couped up in a coffin then gotten a second chance, I wouldn't want to settle for second best.  ;D

Ah, hum. . no way is an educated, lovely woman who saves your ass anytime you need it, 2nd best. . .Julia is tops. . B is just dumb too see it at this point (as he is too dumb to see many things on DS-luv him as we do). . .and of course. . it helped fuel the show for 4 years. . this love thing. . . And remember. . **SPOILER** she's about to be hunky Tom Jenning's first choice for dinner.. lol!

The sequence also makes clear that she did not die and was not later reincarnated as Angelique on Martinique!

I thought the tidbit of info was interesting too but i'm not certain how you could conclude that she wasn't Miranda reincarnated. . . I know this is something the writers dreamed up nearly 3 years later. . .but just because Nicolas did not mention it. . doesn't mean it couldn't have happened. . .in my universe anyway. . .

I was gonna guess Alexandra Motlke. ..after the 35th anniversary event which she attended, seemed to go so well.  But after the Friday and Sunday night debacles. . i truly wonder if the big Surprise will be "NO MORE DS FEsts..???"

Dark Shadows has a lot of great names for their characters but even before becoming embroiled in the show last year. . JULIA has always been my favorite name.  I also like Miranda and Angelique.

For the dudes.. ..hmmm....I do like Quentinn Gabriel, and of course, Jamison (those of you who *know* me know why. ..)

Least favorites. . for females, Millicent has got to go!  As does Edith.

for the guys. .  Roger .. i just don't like that name although i enjoy the character immensely

I was a bit surprised and gratified to hear B&J's exchange outside Collinwood on yesterdays ep, , wherein he admitted that her life is diferent because of **him** and she seemed to long for a return to her former way of life. .i.e. respected doctor instead of love-sick eccentric woman hanging around with the "weirdo Collins cousin from England. . "  I didn't think Julia ever thought about her life before the Big B-Man. . .

I also have to say a I had a fabulous time and enjoyed meeting all of you.  I especially enjoyed all the Grayson moments. .there were considerably more than in the past i undersand and the amount of applause she received not just from me and my kind but all the Fest goers was great!  . . .I did miss Prof Stokes video but am working my way to a copy. . .

Midnite, again. .thank you for this blessed place. . .

p.s. i just got the 120 second thing again!  ha ha!

I think Stokes and Julia would have been adorable as a couple, it's too bad the writers were so stubborn and had her only in love with Barnabus. WHYYY does she love him anyway?? *shudders* Yeicht. I can understand why she NEEDS to love him, because she's the only one who'll protect him 100% faithfully...but then again, Willie doesn't look like he'd betray Barnabus either. So Julia could still be LOYAL to Barnabus, but start to date Stokes^____^

Daphne, I often wonder too why Julia doesn't get much action on the show. . here are my theories.  . .all made up in my own head I warn all. . 1) Julia had to remain loyal and Pure in some sense. . why, I think has more to do with point #2)--which is. . Sam Hall didn't want his wife gettin' it on with any other actor!! LMAO!  I think the soon to be aired Tom Jennings eps were just too much for poor old Sam.  .Grayson seemed to enjoy her time with Don B. way too much . .. :P

It bugs me too that Julia doesn't confide in Stokes. I suppose it was felt that Barnabas' deep, dark secret must remain just that, but at this point in his life I should think he'd have little to fear.

Also I don't think they wanted to strengthen or experiment with a relationship between Julia and Stokes - she's still pining for Barnabas and has eyes only for him, and continues to protect him at all costs.

Just a note to defend my girl . .Julia did last week suggest to Barnabas that they tell Stokes about their situation and  that maybe he could help them.  BARNABAS put the cabosh on that idea. . .*he* wanted only Julia to know. . .

« on: July 02, 2002, 10:13:24 AM »
This is absolutely a trivial comment like only I can make but WHAT was with the wardrobe. . sometimes we are subjected to seeing the most horrendous outfits over and over again . .e.g. Maggie's quilt skirt, Cass's butterfly dress and Julia's green suit. . then there are things you see only once, outfits that actually looked nice. .e.g. Julia grey-stripe dress today. . nice outfit. . do we see it again? and she wore the really tight yellow dress with a wide belt & collar only once or twice. . .and then Elizabeth's fabulous outfit from the show's Day #1. . did she **ever** wear that dress and jewelry again??

Okay...someone (WITHOUT being "gossipy) tell me what she was like...approx age...
and does she say if she still has a relationship w/David?
Grandchildren?
If he'll  ever attend a fest?

Drooling......

She appeared to be in her mid-60s.  Does "psychic work" e.g. past life regressions now.  David H has 3 children i think it is.  And she did mention several times that "some one" questioned her parental methods (read KLS's book and you'll know who that someone was or see my avatar to the left).  I thought to quote Shakespeare, she "doth protest too much". . . .

Here's her webs ite:

Barnabas does seem to make the same mistakes over and over and over again...even though he knows the family history, he is doomed to repeat it!

This is putting Barnabas's pathology mildly . . He was always stubborn and dumb on many fronts. . He never saw what was right in front of him.  He could've left Collinsport with all his money, a groveling servant and a ready and willing female at his beck-n-call.  Its more than selfish that he stays on at Collinsport when Angelique's crusade against "him" is what puts the present-day Collinses in jeopardy. . . . .was this a 18th century ignorantly chivalrous trait or lazy writing??  ?!?
