nor have I ever been in therapy
It's not so much the WB that I'm wary of, it's DC. What worked in the 60s is not going to work now. I think the series will have a fighting chance if they do not choose to retell the girl on the train and the Josette/Barnabas tale yet again. It's not that neither weren't enormously important to the series, it's just that he's reheating left-overs for the umpteenth time and it really doesn't work for me.
You said it.
If you are referring to MY portion of the post.....it's exactly the way I wrote it....I didn't edit any part of it after it was posted.....and I'm sure nothing is missing.
Well, no, of course it's not FAIR.....but isn't it exactly what we do in real life? We fall all over ourselves making excuses for the people we love and care about.....but there's NO excuse for people we don't like, is there?
I'll assume it's general knowledge that I despise the character of Barnabas. Doesn't matter to me if he's vampire or not, in a "good" phase or not, doing the right thing for a change or not....I hate the character and WILL not give him the benefit of the doubt, ever.
Is that fair to the character?....no. Is it even fair to the show?...no. Do I give a rats rump if it's fair?...no. That's how deeply I choose to despise the character.
But think about it.....that means the character must resonate deeply with me....no one would waste the energy it takes to hate like that on a boring, useless, uninteresting entity. He must be a fascinating creation to ellicit such a response. So in this case, even my negative feelings about the character are a positive response to the performance.
a case of Aqua Rock and a couple of dead animals on certain characters' heads will do that to me.
Perhaps at this late date we're impatient with the behaviour of the characters for no other reason than that we are an impatient society.
...
it's WE who change....and our ability to appreciate what we're looking at changes with us.
The show we all claim to love remains the same.
While there are many people who automatically like to receive mailings upon purchases, that approach can be viewed as unethical since there are also many people who do not wish to receive these mailings automatically. That is the reasoning behind making the mailing list opt-in...
I don't remember you ever saying that it would finally work.
Will it work with Netscape 7 or 7.1 yet?
I'm using the Linux version of Netscape 7.1 at this very moment.
