Thanks for posting this, Stuart.  I wonder just what Mr. Pierson means by the statement that events will continue to be held "if the support is there"?  On the heels of the announcement that this year's Festival broke all preceding attendance records (despite the difficulties many fans expressed with Labor Day weekend as a date), it would seem obvious that there's a real market for Dark Shadows conventions out there.

I wonder what format the Tarrytown Festival will take?  I know there's no way that Lyndhurst could accommodate more than a fraction of the crowds the Festivals traditionally attact, though, if there's nice weather, fans could have fun outdoors on the grounds socializing and perhaps sharing picnic baskets.  I'm assuming the main base of the event would be an area hotel, with the traditional day trip to Lyndhurst occupying at least one day's events.

I wonder whether there have ever been discussions with the Carey family about having the event in Newport and at least one day spent on the grounds of the *real* Collinwood?  Again, issues of crowd control might make this prohibitive.  The house is already suffering a lot from the wear and tear of the elements.

This sounds like a real hoot!  I did not realize that Jamison Selby was such a fan of DS.  It sounds as if there were a lot of little in-jokes of the sort only a diehard fan would appreciate.

I've been slowly unpacking and trying to organize my new home (something of a nightmare in slo-mo), and have been watching some DS episodes from October 1966 that I taped about 2 years ago on Sci Fi and never had the chance to watch.  It's been a real treat.  I loved Liz's showdown with Burke when he came waltzing in announcing he was going to buy Collinwood.  And Mrs. Johnson's introduction at the Collinsport Inn was a scream!  I'm still guffawing over Clarice's delivery of Mrs J's line about not being able to rest "as long as evil walks the streets of this town."  I think that was a Francis Swann script--great writer.

Darling MB, these are marvelous!  I don't recall having seen the one with cub scouts and kiddies before.  Those kids must have thought they had died and gone to Heaven!

Joe, I was in NYC a few years ago when a Generation Gap episode was aired.  David Henesy and his Mom were both contestants.  I was disappointed that the Barnabas episode was not chosen, but as usual, time at the Festivals is limited, and seeing David Henesy in a non DS context is a much more unusual experience than seeing something involving a Jonathan Frid publicity appearance.

Sat. before H'ween is likely to be a good one for me.  I'm in  Canada the weekend of Columbus Day, and am helping to run workshops the following weekend.

I'm feeling very excited at the thought of being once again in the company of the legendary Marginalia du Pres!  Not to mention the handsome and mysterious Claude North ... and the Legend That Is Connie!

Jennifer, would be great to have you come too!  maybe we could do the bus from Chinatown together.  Having a companion would make the time on the road pass more pleasantly.

Hi Love at First Bite,

at this point, I'm feeling more negative than positive about going to the Festival.  I just had another harassing weekend of dealing with stuff connected with my move, and I'm just not sure I have the stamina for a day trip into NYC next Sat.

I am asking folks who live in the area whether we might be able to meet up in NYC later in the Fall, if I can't make it to Brooklyn for the big whoopsie.
