The last two times i've logged in . . . when i searched for "new" messages. . it's gone back to Oct 20th. . .is something a brewin'?

No. Whenever I move posts to the archive at the end of a quarter, they're always marked as being new again even though they're not. Either go to Current Talk VIII in the General Discussions Archive and click on the "mark as read" button or simply click on "mark as read" button on the BoardIndex page once you're sure that you've caught up on all the latest posts and that will take care of it.  ;)
