Title: Karma or no karma?
Post by: murph on July 06, 2003, 03:12:52 PM
MB,

Maybe I'm just tired.  I guess I misread your explanation because I thought I would have access to the Karma and I still do not.

Because of my post total I have never had access to them before but upon reading your explanation of the new switch I thought that I now would.

If I'm not going to have access to Karma that's ok I just thought that I would.  I may now have access to it and don't realize it since I've never had it before.  If so where is it located?

Thanks for your help and for all you do.

Murph

Where does one go to see where they rank in the cures/curses department?

Luciaphil...go to Home. Down (under all the board names) there's a little thing that you can click on that says: More Stats (right above the bottom, where it says who's online).
That'll show you where you stand.

I just checked your account and you do have access, Murph. The thing is that if you don't know where it's located, it can be hard to see it. ;)

In each post, underneath each member's stars, you should be seeing something like:

Karma: +2/-102
[cure] [curse]

To curse someone, simply click on the [curse] in their post. Or to cure them, click on [cure]. ;)

Something that might have confused you is that the [cure] [curse] links don't appear in our own posts because we're not allowed to modify our own karma...

Thanks MB,

I did see the (cure), (curse) under other posters karma totals.  I guess I thought they were there as kind of an explanation for the switch so people wouldn't be confused.  I didn't realize that is where I would click if I felt compelled to cure or curse someone.

I must be really tired today because I'm not usually this dense.

Thanks again,

Murph

I wouldn't say you were being dense. Karma hasn't been something you had access to, so you probably haven't paid much attention to it ;)

Don't feel bad, Murph.  I'm a stoop who didn't carefully read the explanation of cures/curses when it started, and I just kept clicking on them to figure out how they worked.  Who knows how many lives I've ruined?

Ah, but there's a method behind the madness. Very little of what's been planned for this week is strictly just for fun...

So clue in the dense librarian here... how is curing/cursing working these days? If I read something that's so utterly fantastic that I feel like spreading good karma, should I be curing or cursing?
