IN MEMORY OF ROBERT RODAN

ShadowGram is deeply saddened to report the passing of Dark Shadows actor Robert Rodan who played the man-made creature Adam on the series in 1968.

A longtime presence at DS Festivals and fan events in Los Angeles from the 1980s through the 2010s, Robert was always full of energy and enthusiasm.  He very much enjoyed working on the show and celebrating the ongoing popularity over the years with fellow castmates and devotees alike.

During his acting career in the late 1960s, Robert starred in the motion picture The Minx in addition to appearing in Looking For Love and Goodbye Charlie. He was also seen on The Garry Moore Show and Day In Court.

On stage in Los Angeles and New York, he performed in Elizabeth The Queen, Hail To The Chief, The Communist, The Long Goodbye, Detective Story and The Hasty Heart.

Robert was born Robert Trimas in Newark, New Jersey on January 30, 1939.  Following his days modeling, making television commercials and acting, he shifted focus in the 1970s to running a real estate business based in Encino, California. In his leisure time he enjoyed sailing on his boat. In 2018, Robert moved to Oregon where he passed away on March 25 of heart failure. His ashes will be scattered off Catalina Island.

Although he wasn't always able to respond, Robert greatly enjoyed hearing from old friends and fans during his final months. He is survived by his loving daughters Mandi and Laura and son Jordan in addition to granddaughter Brianna.

I met Robert at my first DS event, the 1983 Shadowcon. He was quite witty and articulate. I'm glad that I had the opportunity, especially since he didn't attend a lot of the conventions.
