Have you obtained the new Dark Shadows movie?
Are you planning to buy it?

Best Buy opens at 10am. I bought the DVD, and was back in my car by 10:08. I had the following conversation with the cashier:
Cashier: I used to watch the original series.
Me: I have the original series on DVD - all of it.
Cashier: I couldn't handle it. I had a nightmare in which Barnabas Collins jumped out of the bushes and bit me.
Me: Wasn't that what the women wanted?
Cashier: I was six years old!
Me: Oh.

The movie is up on our local pay-per-view channel ($4.95 or something similar), so I guess I'll watch it sooner or later. I have to say I have very mixed feelings about it.

It's available on Charter pay per view for five bucks in my area. I may order it tonight. Haven't seen it yet. Does that make me a sludge?

On Demand here on cable in Jersey, I'm watching for the first time tonight. I dreamt last night that I watched it and didn't like it and was afraid to say so on the Forums, lol. Happy viewing, everyone...

For the record: On Demand is my only option (not a preference) and I just happened to get lucky, really lucky.

Well, I bought the Blu-ray edition of the movie with a picture of Johhny Depp as Barnabas. The face of Barnabas seems to be looking at you no matter where you moved the picture. I still have not played the DVD, yet. I guess I'll wait for a dark and stormy night. [hall2_shocked]

Onyx-treasure...I didn't want to open mine.
I brought one of mine to the nursing home I work at; I wanted my 'peeps' to have a new movie to watch.
So, technically, I didn't open mine, I let them open it...but since it was opened, I WATCHED!!!
AND BTW....I FINALLY SAW OUR BELOVEDS IN THE CAMEO (AT THE PARTY)!!!!

I still have not watched mine. My husband said he wanted to watch the movie with me even though he is not a fan. I am getting a little impatient to see this. [skelleton_runs] Hubby is always too busy.

I've been resisting getting the movie since I'm hoping that there will be an extended director's cut released.
Anybody heard anything about that? I remember when the movie came out there was talk of a possible future 3 hour version of the movie coming out on dvd/blu ray, but so far as I know, the current release just has a few deleted scenes.
I am getting the blu rays of Night and House of Dark Shadows. Sadly it appears we're not getting the extended restored version of House either.

I haven't heard anything about a longer/director's cut, and I've been lurking around various sites about the latest....

I will be getting the new movie sometime, it's just a matter of how long I can hold out. I'm thinking to wait until late March which is my birthday.
I'm sure as soon as I get the current version they'll announce this mythic director's cut I'm waiting for, and I will get the director's extended cut, and am trying not to get double dipped.
