Three Most Favorite Nancy Barrett Characterizations

Nancy Barrett was such a good actress--she made all her characters very differernt. I liked Carolyn the best, Pansy Faye next.

Like John Karlen, Nancy Barrett was one of the best character actors on the show and did a great job with anything that came her way.  Another tough choice but the top three for me are:

Carolyn - showing her skill in character development as she matures from the spoiled rich girl who into a much nicer, but sadder and more serious young woman.
  Millicent - this dingy, pathetic character was a complete departure from the confident Carolyn and started to give viewers a hint at her range.
  Charity/Pansy - this wacky and funny split personally really showcased her ability to go immediately from one extreme to the other in seconds.

     This was a difficult choice.  I picked three but could easily have picked three others.  She was fabulous in all her roles.

Like CastleBee, I voted for Carolyn (present day), Millicent, and Charity/"Pansy" for pretty much the same reasons she gave. I loved all of her other characters though, especially Melanie.

I picked Carolyn, Charity/Pansy and Carolyn "Fredericks" which was a tie with Millicent.  Nancy Barrett was excellent in all her roles.

  Carolyn was an excellent character.  As CastleBee said, she makes a great progression from spoiled rich Collins to a more mature, but sadder, person - [spoiler]particularly after Jeb dies.[/spoiler]  Charity "Pansy Faye" Trask was an excellent character.  Barrett did a FANTASTIC job as the possessed mentalist supreme.  What a fun character - but still with that hint of sadness which Barrett was able to subtly add to her characters.
   The crazed Carolyn "Fredericks" was wonderfully portayed.  Nancy Barrett was great in that version of the Carolyn character and did a marvelous job.  You could truly believe she had witnessed unfathomable horrors.  Millicent was an equally great character; she was a ditz to the max and it really showed Nancy's range.

I love Barrett as both PT Carolyn and Millicent and feared that one or even both wouldn't make the top three, so I'm really thrilled to see that they tied for third.
