Title: Lyndhurst/Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Question
Post by: ClaudeNorth on November 06, 2005, 02:51:18 AM
Where is Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, in relation to Lyndhurst.  When exiting the grounds at Lyndhurst, should I make a left or a right?  And, is it on the same road as Lyndhurst, or do I need to turn off at some point?

Thanks!!!!!

Turn LEFT onto Rt 9 as you exit the grounds of Lyndhurst.  You'll be  heading North.  You'll enter Tarrytown, and then Sleepy Hollow.  You'll see the Old North Church on your right and the entrance to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will come up very quickly after that, also on your right.  You'll be on Rt 9 the whole way.

 ;)

Have fun, Jean-Claude!  Will you be dining at any Mexican restaurants while you're there?  :D  ;)

It's the Old Dutch Church, Rainey.  ;)

I envy you the trip JeanClaude.  When I was at the 2004 festival, I took a little side trip to Sunnyside and found out as I was leaving just how close I was to the cemetery.  The cab driver was a local guy who had grown up around there.  He told me that he and his friends use to play there when they were kids.  Unfortunately, it had started to rain and I thought I should get back to the hotel.  I'd like to go back some day - I really enjoyed seeing Lyndhurst and the entire area even more than I thought I would.

Have a great time!  :)

My wife and I are planning to go to Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow the first weekend in May (5, 6, and 7, I believe it is). Elizabeth Massie and her S.O. Cortney may come along, and Bobubas might even come meet us. Anyone else who feels inclined to show up that weekend, I'm sure we'd enjoy hooking up. Apart from going to Lyndhurst and the cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, a major order of business will be dinner at the Striped Bass, beneath the Tappan Zee Bridge.

I'll post any developments here.

Oh I envy any trip to that restaurant.  Yum!
