I found out yesterday that Ken Friedmann a long time Dark Shadows fan passed away on January 13th 2013. Ken was a personal friend of mine and I miss him already. Ken had lots of health issues and was strong to the very end. Ken was extremely excited about having found an apartment after being in a nursing home due to problems with his previous residence. Unfortunately Ken never made it to the new place. Ken was a DS organizer and a participator in the pre Con days or early Con days. Perhaps someone here can provide more specifics. Ken was extremely talented writer and artist. I believe Ken was a member here years ago but I don't know of his handle. Ken was the biggest Dark Shadows fan I have ever met. RIP my old friend.

That is very sad, particularly since it sounds as if his later years were marked by illness and difficulty.
May he know true peace. And may those who loved him find comfort.

It's always sad to hear that a DS cousin has passed away. I didn't know Ken personally, though I knew of him. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

I also knew his name, but I'd never met him. And I'm not sure if I was aware of him because of general fandom or because he was a member here. Though I'm sorry to say that if he was a member here, I don't recall his username. Perhaps Midnite might have a clue.
My sympathy to everyone who knew and loved him.

My sympathies and best wishes to his family. As has been said, it's always sad when we lose one of our cousins. We're a wonderful, close-knit family.

Sad news, and my condolences to his friends. I was struck by how he retained his sense of humor despite the serious health issues. It had, unfortunately, been a while since he posted here under his screen name Kenabas.
