Fred's an interesting walk-on-walk-off character.  It's the first time we've heard that Carolyn and Will had a handyman.  He seems very quick to take advantage of an opportunity, and if he had lived in our own time band, it might well have been he, rather than Willie, who released Barnabas from his coffin.  As it is, he gave no indication of knowing that Will and Carolyn were hiding a secret in the basement, but we saw so little of him before his death that there's no way of knowing for sure.

Fred said he had been interested in Alexis the minute he saw her, and my impression is that he was sincere, and it wasn't that he was just interested in any female.  But was it that he was interested in Angelique as well, but saw that she was beyond his reach, whereas Alexis had the same looks and seemed more willing to recognize him as a human being?  Or was he never interested in Angelique?  We'll never know.

The closing credits gave further food for thought.  If I remember correctly, his full name was Wilfred - Wilfred Block, I think - and he was played by Edmund Hasham, or something like that.  Wilfred?  Why not Fred?  Why not Frederick?  It sounds as though somebody had ideas about Fred beyond what we saw.  And Edmund Hasham didn't look like an Edmund.  He looked very much like a Fred, and he dealt rather well, I thought, with the difficult task of being the handyman who is willing to engage in some hanky-panky in the foyer with a lady at the drop of a hat.

The blanket that was draped over Amy was, I think, the same blanket that was draped over Sabrina just after she was attacked by John Yaeger.  I had stigmatized it as dark, but on second viewing I had realized that it wasn't so dark, after all.  But why were the afghans slighted?

It is interesting now that it is Angelique, she has really established that it was Alexis.

I had a thought that they couldn't show the switch of Angelique and Alexis, how
could Angelique kiss herself, think of the censors. They would be aghast, there
would be people really picketing the show.

We will have to see if the picture ever ends up on EBay.

What will we call the monster that takes away the heat and the life force?

Heatvamp
Molecular Vibration Lessening Specialist

The fact that the "creature" has no name... another parallel with early Barnabas, when the word "vampire" didn't come up?

I didn't know about the portrait! .. nor could I tell the difference.   You mean no one in fandom has ever bragged about owning it?   Or could one of us have it, or know who does, and can't say?

I think the kiss is entirely unnecessary for the heat sucking.   Ang could just as well get it via footsies.

Lydia, he was Wilfred Block, portrayed by Edmund Hashim (I wrote it down), of Arab or Middle Eastern extraction presumably.   I thought it was slightly fun that they went to the trouble of giving him an unexpected first name to derive "Fred" from.   It could have been Fredibald, or Bartholifred, or Fredonia, I suppose, if they'd really been bored that day.

My first Fred thought was: Fred, your bad acting's going to kill you very soon!   Good acting is a survival characteristic in and DS universe.   (Not that they let you use that skill much necessarily...)  I had "She's So Cold" by the Stones in my head during his scenes...

I never took you for someone who would stoop to stigmatizing a blanket, Lydia.

PT Q sees RT.   In RT, the Room's on a corridor that comes from the left (looking out of the Room) and right-turns right after its doorway, so that it then heads forward away from the Room.   Megan's vamp room was the next room down that corridor.  In PT that corridor isn't there.   Napoleon is looking in that direction as if to express his confusion.

Ang: "When Quentin comes to join me, he will live this way too."   Oh, okay, I missed the obvious Barnabas-Josette parallel in previous viewings.   But... is there anyy reason to expect it to be "eternal"?   Won't old age happen?

Nice moment between Hannah and Ang, where Ang goes on more and more intensely and indelicately about "love!!" and Quentin... and Hannah suddenly knows she means to kill him!

I meant that the RT corrodor left-turns, from its perspective, after passing the Room on its right.

So the children are playing in the Old House??  So who the heck is Fred?  I guess he is a servant or something for the Loomis family.

I love Aunt Hannah’s home…it’s very hippy dippy!  Aunt H’s bird cracks me up! HA!  Again the music on DS is so amazing  these days—every piece every cue adds so much to the atmosphere!  I think Lara did a fabulous job of making a very big difference between Alexis and Angie!  KUDOS!

The big green statue with the huge mouth looks just like the fertility vessel WOODARD showed Julia on the Revival of DS.  Barnabas died over two hundred years ago??
A mention of Julia Hoffman!

So who the heck is Fred?

Dinner for Angelique, or the walk on that only serves the purpose of dying, or the out of work actor that has a two day job.

There's a definite difference.  [ghost_wink]

Possibly. Who knows?  [ghost_undecided]

We will have to see if the picture ever ends up on EBay.

I doubt it would ever show up on eBay until after the person who stole it is dead. They did commit a crime after all, so putting it up for sale on eBay while they're alive to be convicted of theft wouldn't exactly be smart.  [ghost_nowink]

Where do you guys find out all this info??

I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in at least one of the PomPress books.  [ghost_smiley]

Angelique is a Succubus, and she plans for Quentin to become an Incubus.

A lawyer in that state would of course know better, and I don't know what the statute of limitations is for grand larceny (making an assumption there) in NY but it's probably a safe bet that it ran out years ago.

However... it might be a whole new ballgame for the person buying the stolen property.

While I was posting that I thought about the possibility that the statute of limitations might have run out, but I was too lazy to look it up (because you know the law probably is on the Internet somewhere - seemingly everything is  [ghost_wink]). But there is another reason why we may not be likely to see the portrait up for sale on eBay anytime soon, and that's because, in all likelihood, the person who possesses it didn't acquire it to make a profit - they acquired it just to possess it. And the thing that probably gives them their greatest satisfaction is knowing they have it and no one else does. And someone like that doesn't give up a possession like that very easily. (I've suspected the same may be true of the person who supposedly has a longer version of hoDS, if indeed the longer version is in someone's possession. And if that is true, in their case it really is sad that they're not willing to share it with the rest of fandom. But that's a whole other discussion for a whole other topic, like the topic about the longer version of hoDS...)

Or, whoever grabbed it didn't have any real way of selling it without calling attention to himself, and/or didn't really know what he had.

I dont't want to verve to off topic but would the person who may have HODS get some compensation maybe for sharing the extra footage?

(I honestly don't remember what deal was willing to be offered to anyone who might have come forward with the longer version of hoDS. It's probably mentioned in the topic on the subject of the longer version - and the easiest way to access that topic is through the forum's stats page because the topic is currently #6 on the Top 10 Topics (by Views) list. But if it's not there, it is mentioned somewhere on the forum. Though at this point the whole thing is probably totally moot because months and months went by without anyone ever coming forward despite more than anecdotal evidence that someone in fandom may indeed possess a longer version...

But as I said, any further discussion on this topic should probably be posted in that topic and not here in this one.  [ghost_smiley])
