Thank you very much, Gerard, Annie and Midnite.

And, I’d like to thank you, Midnite, Mysterious Benefactor and Dom for providing us all with this truly superb forum to discuss this beloved television show, which means SO much to us, for the past 25 years (a veritable quarter of a century)!!!  [easter_shocked] [easter_angry] [easter_smiley] [Bunny Thumb Up] [Jumping Bunny]

PS Let’s hope we all have another 25 years to schmooze about the goings-on at Collinwood and in Collinsport, Maine! [Bunny Animated] [Bunny Thumb Up] [easter_wink]

CONGRATULATIONS, BOB!!!!

[crowdhappy]  [beer]

Thank you, very much, Josette. [Jumping Bunny] [Bunny Thumb Up]

Although, 2023 has not been a very happy year for either Pirates or Mets fans. In fact, Roberto Clemente and Tom Seaver must be looking down from Heaven right now, being none-too-pleased on how their formerly power-house teams have declined so much in recent years.  [easter_angry] [easter_embarassed] [easter_rolleyes]

I’ve often thought that most of the residents of Collinsport were avid fans of the Boston Red Sox, particularly Sarah Johnson, Bob Rooney and the Eagle Hill Cemetery caretaker, who’s probably STILL in mourning ever since the Red Sox foolishly sold Babe Ruth’s contract to the hated New York Yankees in 1920!  [nods] [easter_angry] [easter_evil]

I remember reading in “How Dare You Say, How Dare Me!” the autobiography of the late, great Pat Cooper (one of Dom’s and my all-time favorite comedians),

Funny you should mention 'Our Hero' Pat Cooper. I read a blurb today on FB that claimed he detested Lola Falana. This stemming from a Las Vegas connection of some sort.

2000 posts, and every one a 'keeper'. Keep 'em coming, BTB!

Dom,

I heard that the former sexy actress/singer/actress Lola Falana found Jesus later in life and is now involved in
several religious missions and charities.

I did not know that Pat Cooler had a problem with Ms. Falana. But, then, again, are there any other celebrities
that the late Mr. Cooper did NOT have a problem with? Pat Cooper’s public rants about such other
celebrities as Frank Sinatra, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Regis Philbin, Kathie Lee Gifford and far too many
others to cite (on “The Howard Stern Show.” “Imus in the Morning” and dozens of tv shows) are legendary.

By the way, wouldn’t Pat Cooper have been great on DS as Salvatore Bocchicchio, proud proprietor of Sal’s
Pizzeria & Trattoria, Collinsport’s premier Italian restaurant? Oh, what fun it would have been to have seen Sal/Pat interacting with Willie, Carolyn, Quentin, Julia, Barnabas and especially Roger Collins as they came into Sal/Pat’s eatery to pick up their pizza pie or chicken Marsala order!  [easter_shocked] [easter_angry] No doubt, the late, great Raineypark would have absolutely loved having the “slightly” outspoken Mr. Pat Cooper (Caputo) as a regular on DS.  [Bunny Thumb Up]

Alas, what we might have seen if DS had continued on into the mid-1970s.  [easter_embarassed] [easter_undecided] [easter_cheesy] [easter_wink]  [easter_evil]

And, thanks from one Garden State paisan to another Garden State paisan for your very kind words.  [easter_smiley] [easter_grin]

Thanks very much, Uncle Roger and M.B.!  [Bunny Thumb Up] [Bunny Animated]

Maybe I’ll make it to 4,000 posts if I last as long as the venerable Ezra Braithwaite did?  [easter_huh] [easter_rolleyes] [easter_grin]

And, to add one more bit of Kate Jackson trivia, on one of the DS dvds, Ms. Jackson relates in an interview, how much she enjoyed working with her fellow actors on DS, but that she was less than thrilled to be working with DS director Lela Swift, who I got the impression was a bit of a martinet while directing DS episodes.

So, on the dvd of that DS reunion, honoring Dan Curtis back in 2001, I paid particular attention to the interaction between Kate Jackson and Lela Swift, but I did not notice any animosity or coolness between them.

Perhaps it's just as well that Cheryl Ladd wasn't there. I think that there's still  bad blood between her and Kate.

I remember reading in “How Dare You Say, How Dare Me!” the autobiography of the late, great Pat Cooper (one of Dom’s and my all-time favorite comedians), that when the unfailingly understated-comedian appeared on “Charlie’s Angels,” he got along famously with the late Tanya Roberts, but, most definitely, did NOT get along with Cheryl Ladd. [easter_rolleyes] [easter_angry] [easter_wink]

PS After 25 years, I finally hit 2,000 posts!  [easter_shocked] [easter_grin] [easter_wink]

She might even shoot a Cameo or two while she's at Lyndhurst.

Now, wouldn’t that be fascinating (Sebastian Shaw’s “favorite” adjective) to be there on the Jay Gould estate and actually see the multi-tasking Ms. Scott film those “cameo” videos as she’s schmoozing with all of the assembled DS fans on October 21/22, 2023?  [Jumping Bunny] [easter_grin] [easter_rolleyes]

82
Maybe the ever-enterprising KLS can combine her “meet-and-greet” event  ($50.00) with one of her personalized “cameo” messages ($50.00) at Lyndhurst?

That would save time for both Ms. Scott and the attending DS fans. The eminent Professor T. Elliott Stokes would, no doubt, declare this to be an incredibly logical and economical plan of action.  [Bunny Thumb Up] [easter_wink]

I certainly remember both shows..One of the Hullabaloo dancers was future Dark Shadows actress Donna McKechnie. Can you just imagine Amanda Harris in one of those dresses with the fringe go-go dancing for Gregory Trask? Or organizing a dance troupe with Magda, Beth Chavez, Kitty Soames and Judith?

Shindig had one of the more bizarre celebrity appearances. The one and only Zsa Zsa Gabor did a shall we say unique version of High Heeled Sneakers.

Uncle Roger,

I think the sight of the comely and lusciously-legged Amanda Harris performing a private dance for the Reverend Gregory Trask would have given the old libertine a massive stroke!  [easter_shocked] [easter_kiss]
[easter_evil]

One of my favorite scenes during the long 1897 DS storyline was when Quentin first met the beautiful Amanda Harris in the drawing room of Collinwood, and almost immediately he turns on the charm for her and after taking her in his arms, they lock lips in an extremely passionate kiss. At that exact same moment, we hear the highly shocked and disapproving voice of the Rev. Trask off-camera, exclaiming, “Miss Harris!!!”  [easter_shocked] [easter_undecided]

To tell you the truth, I don’t think that old Gregory was so much disturbed and grossed-out by Amanda and Quentin’s extremely “friendly” embrace, but that he wasn’t getting into that action with Amanda, HIMSELF!
[easter_evil]

And, wouldn’t the ageless Zsa Zsa Gabor have been great as King Johnny Romano’s sister during the 1897 storyline? I remember she once played a gypsy on an episode of the hilarious “F-Troop.”

Somehow, I think that Magda Racosi and Zsa Zsa Romano would not have hit it off, especially after Magda ripped off The Hand of Count Petofi from her beloved brother, Johnny.  [easter_angry] [easter_wink]

Very funny, Bob, except that we never saw any evidence that they even had a TV!!!

I hear you, Josette!

I think the only TVs we saw during the 4+ years of DS was the one in banker Stuart Bronson’s (actor Barnard Hughes) hotel room in Bangor and also the portable set in Parallel Time Eagle barmaid Buffie Harrington’s (actress Elizabeth Eis) Collinsport apartment.

Although, we did see a console TV in the Tim Burton DS film, when Barnabas (actor Johnny Depp) found Carolyn and David (actress Chloe Grace Moretz and actor Gulliver McGrath) watching the late, great Karen Carpenter performing the song, “Top of the World” on the boob tube, much to Barnabas’s great amazement and consternation!

Can you imagine that scene being played out in the original DS with Barnabas walking into the recreation room in Collinwood (if they had one?) and finding Carolyn and David watching Sonny & Cher performing, “I Got You, Babe” on “Hullabaloo” on Saturday night on NBC?

And, I’m sure that all of you Dark Shadow kiddies out there (of a “certain” age) well remember watching both “Hullabaloo” and “Shindig” on tv way back then during the halcyon days of the 1960s.  [easter_cool] [easter_rolleyes] [easter_grin]

Bob, child of the sixties; sexagenarian, and climbing, of the new millennium!  [easter_shocked] [easter_undecided] [easter_wink]

85
How do you think Barnabas would have reacted if he paid a visit to Collinwood on a Saturday night and he just happened to find David and Amy watching Svengoolie on MeTV?  [easter_huh] [nods]

86
I’ve never seen that film, Anne.

The late Ryan White had a very tragic life as a young boy with hemophilia, who contracted HIV from a contaminated factor VIII blood treatment and who only lived to age 18.

Happy Birthday, Midnite!  [Easter Bunny 2]

As a member of the Leos, a fire sign, you share your astrological sign with such prominent Leos as Robert DeNiro, Martha Stewart, Mick Jagger and Madonna.  [easter_cool]

No doubt, Sebastian Shaw would also tell you that you share your astrological sign with such prominent Collinsport Leos as Angelique, Quentin, Pansy Faye and the immortal Buzz Hackett!  [Bunny Thumb Up]

All the best,

Bob, a self-effacing Pisces.  [easter_undecided] [easter_wink]

Yes, maybe Sarah Johnson’s tip wasn’t that bad after all.

Still, Maggie didn’t look or sound very pleased when Mrs. Johnson gave her that “munificent” tip.  [easter_angry] [easter_rolleyes] [easter_grin]

Actually, I think they do have the prices for the various food items listed on that chart on the wall of the Collinsport Inn Coffee Shop from time to time. I think a roast beef sandwich went for around .95 cents.

No doubt, Barnabas, man of the 18th century, had “sticker shock,” when he saw those 1967 prices on the wall when he first met Maggie at the coffee shop!  [easter_shocked]  [nods] [easter_undecided]

Who’s tighter with a buck (or a nickel): Sarah Johnson or Judith Collins-Trask?  [easter_huh] [easter_rolleyes] [easter_wink]

If KLS’s proposed book on the fans recollections on attending DS Festivals ever does get published, I wonder if we’ll see the reminiscences of several of our own DSF cousins included in that book?

I recall that Lydia and Teresa, two DS Forums posters, would post frequently on the upcoming DS Festivals, in anticipation of meeting up with DS fans from all over the country. We haven’t heard from either of them in quite some time. It would be great to read what they have to say about those DS Festivals from the halcyon days of DS fandom.
