Other groups have tried to put on DS events. The COLLINS Association and The Friends of the 1991 DS put a few smaller scaled events, which were okay. But both crashed and burned for one reason or another.
Some of the cast have appeared at other comic book/retro/memorabilia shows, mostly TLATKLS. I do remember seeing her, Lara Parker, Marie Wallace and Diana Millay at Chiller Theater some years ago. Diana, in particular, did not understand what Chiller was. It was not the kind of venue to sell her cookbook or her rather primitive artwork. She also took deep offense that the majority of the attendees didn't know who she was. In short, the ladies did okay. They were a draw. But not the draw.
Some of the DS fans who attended were taken aback that they had to pay for autographs. The "no charge" at the festivals is an anomaly. At other shows, you pay.
The last convention to both numerous DS actors was The Epic Con somewhere in the Midwest. I believe the lineup was KLS, Lara, Marie, Jerry Lacy, Sharon Smyth and Adrian Paul. The promoters promised the actors the moon. At least, it terms of airfare and lodging but reneged on it. So this left the actors rather reluctant to participate in any event that is not local. And, hopefully, taught them to get the arrangements in writing beforehand.
