Okay, I never saw the eps prior to 1795.
I know they'll be coming back to the future ;) soon;
I vaguely remember Barn & Vicki...ENGAGED...driving, yada yada, which leads to Barns 'hospitalization' w/Dr. Lang.
When did Vicki INSTANTLY get over her FIANCE Burke?
Also.....Barn had been mean (especially toward David), but I remember not long after returning to present day, he (Barn) was quite friendly w/his family....
How do we segueay (sp) into this??

As soon as she met Peter Bradford! ;)

Technically, Vicki's journey into the past only lasted in a moment of real time in 1968 (time has been suspended, ad nauseum), so Burke's death was actually very near. Meeting Peter in the past must have erased much of what Vicki felt for Burke--unless she never really loved him in the first place. Who can forget how very unenthusiastic their kisses were?
:P

I don't see her smooches with Roger Davis being much more enthusiastic, lol. Besides she had great chemistry with Burke #1
I'm inclined to see Peter as the rebound guy.

good points Robin!
She's young , she's fickle and does not understand so Peter shouted it all to her! i never thought she really loved Burke but was in love with "love" and that house
that we never see again! Also as stated before Vicki is just not that deep! she does come back to 1968 and
agrees to marry Barnabas in 5 minutes or maybe she is just in the guy of the month club!

Oooo, we all seemingly forgot! She ends up quickly engaged to Barnabas because he puts the bite on her as he fears that she will know that he is the one and same Barnabas she met in 1795/96. Under his power, she'd agree to anything.

I thought Vicki a tad more responsive to Peter's kisses than she was to Burke #2. Then again, HE didn't seem to enjoy kissing her, while I bet Roger Davis tried to slip her the tongue, knowing him!
Vicki sure seemed upset over Burke's death, but I guess we have to give her the benefit of the doubt--going to 1795/6, which to her, at least, was four months, must have efficiently erased her feelings for Burke, especially after Peter stood by her and tried (inefficiently) to save her from the gallows. Perhaps she was just clinging to him as the only person there who was willing to help her.
Besides, didn't you get the impression that he thought her a little bit loose, and hoped that she was? ;D

WILL INVOLVE SPOILERS
How much does Vicki remember, though? I can see her feeling as though she lived through all that time, and a lot of horrifying experiences, plus her relationship with Peter. That could certainly help her get over Burke. Given her reaction when she encounters Jeff, apparently she does remember that part. On the other had, she seems to have forgotten almost everything else!!

Spending nearly 5 months in 1795/1796 is time for Vicky to come to the realization that Burke is gone and will never return again. She did mention to Peter that she had a fiancee who is "missing". Peter was there for her at a vulnerable time and she fell for him.
