Speaking of the Festival...
« on: April 04, 2007, 06:23:21 AM »
I thought about piggy-backing on joe's thread, but I preferred to do a poll.  Just in case the word comes down in the next month that there will not be a traditional Fest event (a 3-day/weekend-long convention) this year but instead a one-day event in the summer similar to the Halloween party in Hollywood, how many people would go?  And how many people would like to go but cannot at this stage because of work, money, etc.?  I am just curious; I am not basing this on any offficial knowledge.

I was not impressed with the "Halloween in Hollywood" event, so I would be wary of any more one-night only events. I certainly would not travel out of state for anything less than a full fledged DS Weekend.  However, if another one-day event were to be held in California again, and enough of my friends were planning to go, I would also most likely try to attend.

I might possibly consider a one day event if it were held in NYC and I could coordinate other activities around that event. It would depend on when it was held, cost and location. Tarrytown for a weekend would be nice for for a day might be inconvenient.  I don't understand the secretiveness of this whole ordeal. Like someone said in an earlier post just announce a month, weekend or likely location. That way some can decide if they might be able to do it and others can just write if off as a no.

I'm with Teresalita. I'd go if it were in NYC or a surrounding area. I would probably go if they had it in one of the towns where one of the houses (either the movie on TV one) are, since I've never been to them. I'd really be more excited to go to the Collinwood feature in the series. Not to mention that from what I've seen in pictures and short vids on You Tube, the surrounding area seems to be quite intriguing.

I would definitely go if it was local, and by local I mean anywhere from here, to NYC.

I definitely miss the Halloween parties that Ed used to hold. Those were a blast.

I know most people live in LA or NY,  But there are other places where people live. Cranky Cranky.
