The Chat Room Is Now Open!

After having experienced a MAJOR computer crisis because my electricy went off an hour and a half ago and REALLY screwed everything up, I happy to say that the chat room is now open for anyone who might still want to chat.

Sorry about the delay - but I can't prevent unforeseen disasters.

I'm using IE 5.0  I see the chatroom and box for typing in text but  do not see how i can enter what i type to the chat.

I have IE 6.0, and could not get in the chat room at all, tried AOL, and got in and saw the same thing you did, Bob. Not able to chat.

I finally figured it out Cheryl. You type your text in the box then you either hit your ENTER key or click on the RELOAD icon in the chatroon screen. :-)

We deliberately make it hard to get in.

Seriously, all you need to do to get in is one of the two things Bob has already mentioned.

The chat room doesn't work for me.  Either I have to wait minutes just for the page to refresh, or it doesn't refresh at all and I get the "page cannot be displayed" thing.  Plus, I noticed when the chat room is in operation, the main board slows to an unbelievable crawl.

Is it bad for everyone - or was I just born under a bad sign??  LOL

I will try it if I can get back in. Craig_Slocum is listed under Chatroom Users Online, but when I click on Join Chat, I cannot get in now. Why am I listed as being there, but can't get in? And there are 9 other people listed, yet it says, Guests Chatting 0.

My connection was at 50666 bps - but I had to use IE4 because that's the only configuration I have backed up. I suppose I really should backup more often. LOL!

Well, as I said during the chat, everything was working fine for me. But others were saying that things were very slow for them, so you weren't alone.
The problem with chats is that some people are always going to have a slow connection. I've seen that at every chat I've ever been to, be it on AOL, Sci-Fi's site, E! Online, Talk City, etc. Chats on AOL used to be a nightmare of either being REALLY slow or getting punted out of the room in the middle of them - and sometimes not being able to get back in.

The funny thing is that the forum was working really quickly for me. I was posting while I was also chatting...
