Julia arrives in 1840. There's much family drama going on. None of it supernatural. At least not yet. Besides Carrie, we are introduced to a couple of the household. Gabriel is a bitter, arrogant man who is confined to a wheelchair. Major issues. His sister in law Samantha is the widow of Gabriel's brother Quentin. Yes, widow. Quentin and Tad were both lost at see. Samantha is a very sad widow, doing her best to cope with her loss and put up with Gabriel. This incarnation of Samantha seems like it was written with KLS in mind. Samantha has a bit of edge to her but she's hardly a villainess. At least not yet. The dialogue reveals that she is somehow related to Roxanne Drew.
There's a familiar face in Collinwood too. None other than Ben Stokes, who, according to what we were shown in 1897, should be dead. Never mind. Ben is a great character and his presence is most welcome. Ben seems to dote on his granddaughter Carrie. Which is very sweet. But are there no other Stokes around? How does the line continue, especially if Carrie dies?
Ben is genuinely surprised when Julia pops in from 1970. (Should he be? Did he know about Vicki?) But he takes it all in stride. He agrees to help Julia fit in at Collinwood. Julia has her work cut out for her. Gerard is at Collinwood. So is Carrie. But Quentin and Tad are dead. And no one has ever heard of Daphne. So what's next?
