Marie, performing in a play in Connecticut, fell off the stage last night and broke her shoulder.
Refuah Shelemah,
a Hebrew prayer for healing.....
-
David, where did you hear this? Thanks.

Oh never mind! I found the article. Poor Marie.:(

I was there when it happened. Not much I can add except that one of her fellow actors told me that under the circumstances, Marie is surprisingly good spirits.
-
I'm concerned that there could be complications at her age.
-
The complete article in the paper says that the show will continue with a replacement actress "because Wallace will not be able to return to the theatre."
-
How absolutely awful! Poor Marie! She's such a sweetheart, and a real trooper.
Sending healing prayers for her swift and smooth recovery.

How terrible! My thoughts are with her! She's the neatest lady in the world. I'll never forget how she treated my friends and I with such warmth and downright fun at the '03 festival. We all could've gone on blabbing away with each other for hours. I hope that shoulder heals soon!

So sorry to hear this!I hope she feels better with time, and I am glad to hear she is in good spirits.

To Marie, I am so sorry to hear this. Get well very soon. My prayers are always with you. Richie

so, this turns into All About Eve...who pushed her????.. .>rimshot<
Hope she's feeling better. Not many alums left, are there?

She was able to get a message onto Facebook yesterday: "Thank you to all my wonderful friends and fans who have sent me so many healing and loving messages. I'm in great hands in a New York hospital with a great surgeon who will be operating on my smashed right shoulder this afternoon. I know all your prayers will help to make it a speedy recovery.
Love to all"

of all of the surviving OS actresses...and i've met nearly all of them at one point or another...marie seems like the most genuinely nice person. she's charming.
this makes me sad. i hope she recovers promptly.
-
I would definitely agree with you on that, michael c. I ran into Marie quite by accident while she was up there for rehearsals. She was genuinely happy to see me and introduced me to someone as her friend. They don't come any nicer than Marie.

i had a similar experience with marie a few years ago in new york. i ran into her on the street and stopped her to say hello and introduce myself as a fan. many people would have been put off by such an encounter but marie was a doll. she did seem genuinely pleased to spend five minutes speaking to a fan. i'll always remember that.
other DS actresses are shall we say, "polite"...when they've got books and cds and so forth to sell...but marie's the real deal.
-
I don't know if it was on her facebook page or not but Marie told me yesterday morning she was having additional surgery in the afternoon (yesterday).
I agree with what everyone else has said about Marie - she is the real deal. She is also someone who takes whatever happens to them in stride and makes the best of it.
