I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in that being the actual time slot for the show. That info is from one of the actors' web sites, and sometimes they're the last to know about when one of their projects is airing. Also, it's going to be a while before the show actually airs, so plans could change.
I'm not familiar enough with how HBO distributes their various season schedules to speculate much. Supposedly, the new
Sopranos season will debut in March 2007, and I can see how using that show as a lead-in would be an ideal situation for a new series. Usually, once the networks are satisfied that a series has a fair amount of viewer loyalty, they kick it out from behind the strong lead-in spot to make room for another show whose ratings they want to boost and put it in another slot where, eventually, it can become a strong lead-in for another new series, etc.
