I'm glad we won't have to compete for the chandelier, AD. I'll take it without electricity. It's funny that you mention it because I couldn't take my eyes off of it! I was fascinated more with the inanimate objects in this episode than the actual goings-on. The real stars of the show today were the Old House chandelier (actually, the whole OH set with all the burning candles), David's longsleeved button shirt, Joe's jacket and David's humongous crystal ball-- with Carolyn's hairbow getting honorable mention.

Yeah, DL, Willie seemed to relish making Barn squirm. And I rather enjoyed watching it myself. I am always amazed when Willie gets away with taunting Barn. Their present-day relationship totally fascinates me. And it never occurred to me about Wille's uneasiness about going to the family crypt but, wow, yeah, what a head-trip it must be for him to have to go back there: day or night.

I too thought about Joe's & Carolyn's previous relationship while watching them together, Lydia. I thought Carolyn looked somewhat 'hurt' when Joe asked for David, but after re-watching the episode I realize I saw what I expected to see. I didn't know it was so soon after the breakup but I still expected to see an uneasiness between them.

I know at some point during the week Barn (while talking to Julia, I believe) mentioned that way back when, Sarah perceived a change in him but wasn't aware of what exactly the change was and never held it against him, blah, blah, blah. I thought that Sarah died before Barn 'changed'? And does anyone remember if Sarah's name was always there on the crypt wall or is that a recent family history rewrite?

David is pretty good with a crystal ball. He's so smart. If he thinks about something long enough, it comes to him. I suspect he really doesn't need a crystal ball at all.

Well, if Barn's worth his salt as a vampire, he should have no problem sensing that David is in the coffin, especially after placing his hand on it. I guess we'll find out Monday.
I don't know if I am correctly remembering this or if it is just an old dredged up misthought, but I am picturing Barn opening the coffin and David not being in there, but actually hiding under it or behind it (or somewhere in the room). But if that were the case they'd have probably had Barn open the coffin for the Friday cliffhanger. Now that I am giving it more thought I am picturing Amy & David hiding under a coffin in the Old House. I guess it's time to stop thinking and enjoy the weekend.
Re: Josette's ghost. Didn't Laura try and banish her from the Old House? I don't remember if that even worked or not. (I loved that scene!)

And wasn't it implied that she protected David?

Yeah, that sure does look like a photo of Sarah, they took the time to make a sketch for Sam to present but not one for the family album. I wonder if this lack of authenticity remained throughout the run of the series? Probably so, I remember something about zippers...

Interesting and logical take on the Sarah/Julia 'thang' Lydia. I know it was Sarah, but I half expected someone else to materialize or be lurking in the shadows.

So I'll ask this; Is Josette's ghost still around? Would I be way off base to expect J's ghost to pop up and throw a wrench into Barn's plans?

Wow, I had no idea this guy played Roger in Depp Shadows. Fantastic makeup job. From the trailer I was visually pleased with the casting. Hoping to see the movie next week.

And here we go-go again-gain. Are vampires predictable or unpredictable? Barn's back to treating Julia like crap -- well, that's karma for that sinister smile yesterday. (Grayson hammed it up a bit and I loved it. Frid floundered a bit and I hated it.) I hope that Jules has figured out that mentioning Sarah momentarily distracts Barn from violence, a trick that will surely come in handy in the predictable future.

Vicki & Burke: CORNY. Burke is so full of crap, AG's acting did him well here because it was so unbelievable that it made Burke look like he was BSing Vicki and barely able to hide it. This scene reminds me of what Lydia mentioned a few episodes ago, that the lines seemed as if they were written for Mitch Ryan's Burke.

OMGoodness! That smug look on Barn's face after his truce with Burke. I'm sure it was meant for us (which is dumb) but if I were Burke and saw that smug grin I would have punched Barn in his f'n face.

I liked Vicki's and Burke's parting scene. Nicely written and acted and believable. Burke played all the right cards and deserved his parting kiss.

I could have done without Julia's meandering branch grabbing search for Sarah.

It was weird how they had Barn show up at the Old House in the very next take from the scene of him and Vicki at Collinwood. I didn't understand the way Grayson played the last scene with Frid as they spoke of Sarah. She played it with glee and I am wondering why? What are we supposed to take from that? I sort of felt like she wants to please Barn and if she can figure out the riddle she will get on his good side but I really didn't sense any fear behind it. Perhaps it's just another realm to conquer? Maybe a selfish glee? Or maybe just plain old fascination.

What's with Vicki's boyish sideburns? Is that natural on some women or are they there on purpose? Was that a fad or style back then? In some weird unsettling way, I like it.

And has anything ever been said about that suit on Frid? Is it supposed to fit like that? It reminds me of the time Herman Munster had to wear a corset to fit into his old army uniform. I guess if you're playing a stiff in a suit, that's the suit to play it in.

Constable Jonas Carter, he gave me the vapors with all that leather straped around his uniform. I think he ended up working the backroom at the Tool Shed Bar & Grille.

Oh, great now I totally dislike Julia because of that sinister smile. Grayson was excellent in this episode! What a joy it was to watch a pro in action. I wonder if Sam is writing yet?

At first I was somewhat shocked by Sam's attitude toward Julia but when I re watched the ep I saw that everything was leading up to the confrontation. Julia's really in the hot seat. Even Carolyn is becoming suspicious of her.

And my thoughts exactly, DL, regarding Carolyn & 'the little monster', they've both come a long way in a year.

The swing, dear lord, the swing. I guess Sarah ran off to hide in the family crypt. Why she didn't materialize her self there is anyone's guess. Someone needs to oil that gate.

And speaking of Sarah, why would she give Maggie back the doll? I know it's a woman's prerogative, but sheesh, kid, make up your mind! So many possibilities as to why. My question is, is Sarah communicating with us or the Evans family?
