Current Talk '02 I / Re: This Old House

I'm torn between both the Old House and Collinswood.  :-/ I love the charm and era of the old house but I also love the room in the big house.  I know my son would love it.  He could fill up the rooms really easy.   ::)

Current Talk '02 I / Re: Used to watch DS in 60's

Ah yes, I was a fan of DS in the 60's too.  I was 13 years old, in Jr. High.  I used to rush home from the bus so that I wouldn't miss a minute of it.  My mom got me started, I think she watched because Joan Bennett was on it.
Now I watch it on the Sci-Fi station through our Broadband cable.  My 12 year son is getting interested in it too.  He sits here and eats his breakfast while it's on.  He keeps asking me questions then saying he's confused.... ?!? switching over from present time to 1795.  It airs here from 7am til 8am pacific time.  I get to watch all but the last 10 minutes of the 2nd episode before I have to leave to take him to school.   :)

Current Talk '02 I / The year is 1795

Today marks the first episode of 1795 and seeing Barnabas not a vampire.
this is taking me back because I don't recall too much of this era yet. I recognized Sarah, Mrs Collins of course and Barnabas. Then Nathan, I don't rememeber where he fits in, in this time period.
I can hardly wait to see the episodes to come. The bright colors, greens, yellows, so common in the 60s ...1960s that is. :)
Yesterday something strange happened. I applied for a credit card not long ago, I received a letter stating that they couldn't give me one because I was deceased. LOL.... Maybe I'm another Vickie Winters......stuck in a time zone I shouldn't be in. By the way, I changed my name on here. As long as I'm a ghost...I might as well be an angel too.  ::)

By the way, my last name is Wick......maybe I'm related to Phillis Wick ......hehehehehe......well, that's my husband's last name too.

That's right ..althought I was only around 12 then, I remember my mother having a quilted skirt somewhat like the one Meggie wore.

I too loved the color combination meggie had on...I love the color blue so I was envying her. I loved how she wore her hair, add the blue ribbon.

Thanks Midnight....I didn't mean to spoil a story line for someone. I hadn't seen DS in 30 years, this is my first time to see it through since then.

I've had a lot on my mind lately, my ex husband is in a comma and we don't expect him to live. I haven't been able to see DS straight through for weeks.

I will pay more attention from now on. It is not my intent to show any disrepect for anyone in this room.

I'm glad there is a place for DS fans to come to keep up on the recent story lines and happenings.

I hope I didn't offend too many people.

Respectfully,
Donna

Current Talk '02 I / Is Today's Episode The Last We See Burke Devlin?

Today when Burke said good bye to Vickie, is that the last time we see him? Later she mentioned to Julia he was going out of town on business for a few days.

I was just wondering if that was going to be the trip he goes on to South America where he dies in a plane crash or not.

I too think the new ds should be a next generation show and not another remake. it worked for star trek.

I am in agreement, I think DC productions should make a "New Generations" come back of DS. Also the idea of brining back some of the original actors from 31 years ago is a great idea.

Having the Fox network involved is a good idea too. They seem to stretch out the type of shows they have on there. If any of them can make DS a come back show...they can.

Only on thing.....don't make it a continuation or bring back Barnabas again. I mean, flash backs blended in with current storylines ok. We need some fresh blood out there, and not Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love the X-Files though and I am starting to like the new Star Trek "Enterprise" series too.

Take Care,
Donna

I may of missed this in past postings but here goes anyhow....
Who is the actress who plays 10 year old Sarah? Has she ever done anything else after DS? Is she still alive? I'd suppose so, she would be in her 40's.

I'm about to get a new job maybe. I'll have to get busy and get my vcr ready so I don't miss any episodes. Especially with the episodes coming up in the months ahead.
