[spoiler]Wednesday's quote:
Ep #540 (1968) - Cassandra - 'He MUST have told you more. He MUST have.'
From "Robservations 6/27/02 - #540/541 - A Revelation for Cassandra"
On the terrace, Cassandra summons Willie, who, doing some dusting at the Old House, is puzzled. "Come to me," chants Cassandra. Willie protests that he doesn't want to go there, but she orders him to hear her voice and obey her-he has no choice. She realizes he has gotten the message, and he appears before her as ordered. He's surprised to see who summoned him, and she tells him to look at her.He refuses, but she is insistent, and he has no choice. Hypnotized, he listens raptly to her. "Tell me everything you know about Barnabas Collins," she demands. What happened after the dream? Willie tells her Julia and he found Barnabas after he'd been attacked by the bat, and there were two gashes in his neck and he was bleeding. Julia found no heartbeat. They buried him. Cassandra is shocked to hear this. Willie says Barnabas told Julia he wanted to be buried where nobody could find him, if it happened (this wasn't true; he wanted to be staked). Willie goes on-he dug the grave in the woods, put the coffin in the ground and covered it with dirt. Then he returned to the Old House with Julia, who was going to give him a job at Windcliff. Willie returned to the Old House and there he was, alive. How? asks Cassandra, but Willie has no idea. He escaped the curse was all he told Willie. Cassandra is terribly upset that Willie isn't more forthcoming. He says such things scare him, and he'd rather not know. He's telling the truth, he can't lie to her. She sends him back to Collinwood-he'll forget that she summoned him. He walks off, slowly, and she is in despair. She was so certain he knew something!

Considering the scene is well summarized, it's very unfortunate that the Robeservations makes no direct reference to the quote. However, the circumstances surrounding how it comes up begin after Willie tells Cassandra that when he went back to the Old House Barnabas was there and alive. When Cassandra asks how, Willie says he doesn't know. Cassandra then asks how did Barnabas leave his coffin, but Willie says he doesn't know that either. Cassandra says Barnabas must have told him something to which Willie replies that Barnabas just told him that he managed to escape the curse. And to that an extremely frustrated Cassandra delivers the quote. But Willie says that Barnabas told him not to worry about such things and then adds that he doesn't want to know about those things because they scare him.
It's funny how some things aren't really in your memory but some things are like they happened yesterday. The latter is definitely the case for me when it comes to this ep because seeing Cassandra's skeleton hand, her increasing panic at the very real possibility that she would be destroyed by Nicholas, but then her hearing Lang's message are a part of my memory as if I really did just watch them yesterday instead of more than 50 years ago. Though I suspect most of the reason for that is that I'd recently come back from a trip to Texas to visit an aunt who, while I was there, had given me a tape recorder, and on the day this ep aired I'd used that tape recorder to record the ep. I also recall as clear as if it happened yesterday that after the show ended I went outside on what was a beautiful July day and played back the ep. In fact, I remember saving the recording and playing it back multiple times that summer along with other eps that I'd recorded. And thankfully the tape recorder had come with an earphone because I suspect my playing them back might have driven my parents crazy otherwise.
