Movie Star Bennett Back on the Big Screen Where She Belongs

Joan Bennett's greatest film, Scarlet Street (1945)
screens Feb 1st at the landmark movie palace Castro Theatre in San Francisco on Feb 1st.

Directed by Fritz Lang, Scarlet Street is considered by many to be the greatest film noir ever made.
I had the honor of reviewing the film's restored DVD release in Videoscope Magazine last year. I said that the film was Bennett's finest hour.
And so it is.

Fritz Lang worked with Bennett four times & said she was one of his favorite actors.
Edward G Robinson co-stars, but it's Joan's show all the way.
Posters here who only know her from DS MUST see this film.
Her sexually charged performance as a bad girl is a revelation!!!!!
How she failed to score an Oscar nomintion for this one remains an all time Hollywood mystery!!!
