Title: <Somewhat OT
Post by: Patti Feinberg on December 04, 2016, 06:06:00 AM
At any of the fests in the last 3-4 years (or more recent), has anyone (fan or actor) ever mentioned, "Downton Abbey"?

(For some reason, last week while watching it, I was thinking J. Frid may have been watching the earlier years....)

I wonder if he would have liked it? I imagine he'd have appreciated the acting - I remember him speaking on American acting as being somewhat dull (my words, not his) at least as far as many actors always playing themselves in different roles as opposed to becoming an entirely different person for the role (he noted Clark Gable as an example). I don't know about the subject matter - what subjects entertained him or fell flat for him. Honestly tho, I don't imagine he would have been into TV. Just my guess from what I remember from his public persona.

It would be fun if the Collinsport Players would do a 'cover' of a D.A. type theme...Edwardian era. Jameson could be the 'big cheese' (couldn't be an Earl, WE ARE AMERICANS, DAS).
