Ah, we have an urn on the portico right when it's needed.  Add Magda's 6-chambered gun to the growing list of 1897 anachronisms.  (Though I saw her load only 5 bullets.  [ghost_wink])

We learn that Beth bought a second pentagram for herself earlier that evening.  Was there a "Magic Box" in Collinsport, a shop where one could purchase protective charms, powdered nightshade, silver bullets, etc., when needed?

In one continuous scene, Judith made sure the drawing room window was closed before she turned off the lights and followed the noise into the foyer where the werewolf confronted her.  So, when Beth chased it away, how is it that the same window was wide open for him to jump through, hmmm?

Did Joan miss a cue when she was on the phone?  She finished her conversation and then stood there for what seemed to be at least 5 to 10 seconds with phone to ear.  I think perhaps she did!  Joan Bennett cracks me up when she screams.  It's quite funny because it almost seems as if she is a bit embarrassed too.
Poor Joan.  (tee hee)

This time, he didn’t get his mouth open yet when she said the line.  And interestingly enough for someone who’s scared and wants him to stay away, she’s offering up her neck  on just the right angle.
I won a keychain about 10 years ago (I remember Jim P. handing them out in the WTC lobby) that has a lenticular of this scene.  I'd forgotten all about it til I saw Barnabas sink his fangs into her very exposed neck, lol.

Bet Magda thought real hard about fishing that gun back out and aiming it at Judith.
Rim shot!!!

And there’s wolfie on the rock again, doing his imitation of the White Rock mermaid, when Magda shoots him and he falls.
The White Rock mermaid??

Yeah, didn't Ezra say it was the very first piece he had made himself?  The scene leaves me with more of the feeling that he's a journeyman than an apprentice making his first piece.
It was the first piece of jewelry that he made.  [ghost_wink]

It is, and I could be wrong, but I don't remember them pulling the camera back that far before, so you could see the other side of the room.  All I remember seeing before is the door, the nightstand, bed and chest of drawers (not to mention the small bookcase and Franklin stove as you come in the door).  Decent room, but neither huge nor fancy. I could buy it as a servant's room.  When they pull back this time, it seems HUGE, and that chifferobe takes up a lot of it.

Jenny was hiding next to the chifferobe/wardrobe just before she died.  Come to think of it, #747 might provide the best indication of the size of the room since they not only dressed the forefront to shoot her in her hiding place, but also the left side of the room where she found the baby clothes.  There's a chandelier in there now, however, that I don't remember in the murder scene.  (Q probably would have smacked his head on it, lol-- I doubt even Beth's hair can clear it now.)

I wrote under the last ep that Evan and Tim played with blue-backed cards.  But when the scene is repeated here, the cards are red.  How'd the blue ones disappear overnight?  [hdscrt]

The jeweler's scene was as problematic as it was brief.  Old Ezra said he was 15 (15½?) when he made the necklace, which makes Edward Marshall much better suited to play Harry than he was to play Ezra in 1897.  Also, why would young Ezra fail to mention the inscription on the necklace during his conversation with Barnabas?  The different pronunciations of the name "Chavez" by different characters has never bothered me, but it kinda does when it's the same character pronouncing it two different ways, even at 70+ years apart.

And why oh why do I notice and recall obscure details from a TV show but constantly misplace things at home AND can't grocery shop without a list?  [rleyeb]

Beth lied to Judith that Quentin was spending the evening at Evan's house.  How fortunate it was for Quentin that Tim, who really did spend the evening at Evan's, told Judith that he was just at the school.

Pansity, isn't Beth's room the same one we've always seen?

Yet again, Barn risks changing the family's future by taking another victim.  Does he plan to bite the entire house staff?

I wonder if Magda would have even let Beth through the door had she known that Beth's betrayal of her sister is what set her off and ultimately led to her death.

It varies from woman to woman, but for many it's not until the 2nd trimester that a first-time pregnancy "shows."  Though Jenny was having twins, who knows if she was eating properly (if at all) after Quentin left?  So I think there was probably plenty of time for Laura and Quentin to correspond before Edward learned of Jenny's secret.

Um, I seriously doubt that Bicycle was making the same blue-backed playing cards in 1897 that they are now.

Quentin to Beth:  "How do you expect me to spend my time-- an afternoon of cards, a night of murder?"
If I ever host a murder mystery, THAT is what I'm going to call it.

Hmm methinks Evan’s hypnosis works better than Julia’s – and without the oogly medallion.  [naughty]

Apparently Trask has had this in his mind for some time., but how could he be sure he could find someone skilled in hypnosis to set up a patsy for him?

But was that simply hypnosis, or was it the Black Arts at work, by way of the potion that made Tim susceptible to suggestions and memory loss?

The powder of nightshade leaves, eh?  I thought the roots were much more toxic than the leaves.  But anyway, I do know that the leaves are stinky and bitter, so good luck with getting somebody to drink it.

You're welcome, Sally.  I didn't know you were doing any copying within the Robservation post, but in that case you'd probably have to get posts from different threads copied into your post first.  I would open a new tab in order to do some navigating before I'd open a text program, but that's me.

Doctor and K9,

CM #1 is also a visual treat-- vivid colors and beautiful cover art.  It's very nicely done.

Sorry to hear you had to rewrite your post, Sally.  Instead of copying and pasting the text into a doc, you could try just copying it.  Then when you return to the post reply page, you could paste it back in if needed.  It's just a suggestion, but I'm all for saving time and extra steps.
