Title: 38 years ago, April 1967
Post by: adrianwolfblood on April 11, 2005, 05:54:48 AM
It was 38 years ago this month that changed Dark Shadows forever. The return of Barnabas Collins to Collinwood, 172 years after being chained in a coffin.

I created a collage to mark the occasion, I know it is a week early, but decided to post it anyway. Enjoy.

Great collage Adrianwolfblood.  I love that you have marked the anniversary of Barnabas.  It's a really nice one to remember.

Well, I'm going to kill myself now.  Not only had Adrianwolfblood( by the way...welcome) done this collage, but it's a beautiful collage.  And I first saw Barnabas.  I was 10 years old.  How do you people do these wonderful collages?

Well, gotta go kill myself now....

Thanks. I try. I use photoshop, paintshop, bryce 3d, photosuite for my images. I also have done a few music videos using clips from the dvds.  Here is another image I finished for someone special not long ago. She is a big time Nicholas Blair fan(who isnt? The guy is a ham on camera.)

He has been gracing us at the The Dark Shadows Files for quite some time now.  They all reside in  his folder (http://groups.msn.com/THEDARKSHADOWSFILES/adams.msnw).

Yep, I joined his YahooGroup awhile back.  Check it out if ya haven't folks.  Adrianwolfblood has some amazing images there.  In fact, the "Dark Barnabas" pic is my desktop image!  [blackbat] [vampire]

thanks. No, strangely enough I havent. May do that today just because. I think its the hair that throws me off. Evil blondes with dazzling eyes are my weakness. I have more images of Angelique than any other character.

The Dark Barnabas, penny, I took off the scene where Sandor released Barnabas from the chained Coffin in 1897. I toyed with the dark strokes and other brush effects in photoshop, those I dont use often, but added the ruby glass effect over the eyes, added a few more layers, and that is how it came out. Lot better than I expected. I think it gave him a more sense of realism. A hard look at what he really was. A monster. One with a conscious. Who hated his existence, but was powerless to stop himself.

Angelique did her work well. Sometimes I wonder if she planned for him to cling to his humanity. Most others would just let the curse consume them.

I know exactly what you mean by "Evil blondes with dazzling eyes..."

I myself have a weakness for dark hair and dark, sad eyes. [blackbat]

My own weakness is for an eccentric, skinny redhead with a basso Bankhead voice and a rolling infectious laugh who clutches her neck frequently and has the most kabuki approach to registering shock I've ever seen.

And the Barnabas collage is beautiful, as others have said.

Thanks. If I can get to the convention this year, Im taking a cd full of my images and music videos to Lara. Minus that image. I dont think she would find it too amusing, even though I didnt do it out of spite.

Here is I think the third or fourth image I ever did. My first was a mock movie poster announcing DS to the big screen, will post it when I locate it.

Sometime ago someone asked me if I had done a pic of Cassandra. At the time, I had not, and it is overdue. Here she is, enjoy.
Title: A New collins
Post by: adrianwolfblood on April 27, 2005, 04:09:35 AM
Now, this one is a new area Im getting into. This is my first attempt, and not perfect.

Lets take this in theory. Say Angelique's plan succeeds. She immediatley stops all witchcraft. Jeremiah and Josette stay married and have children as do Barnabas and Angelique. Down say 3, 4 even 5 generations, a new collins is born. A girl who grows up into a fine lady. This lady below.

This lady in particular is in fact, several ladies. A hyrbrid I created using Josette's hair and body, Angelique's eyes, carolyn's nose, Naomi's lips and the face(cheeks, chin) of Victoria Winters(assuming this is where vicki inherits hers from since some fans like to think of her as Liz's daughter)

This is my first attempt. I may play around with others to see what other unknown collins members I can come up with.

Wow!  Those are amazing - the eyes, in particular, they look so real, as though they are really staring at us.

Adrian, your Cassandra collage is a real treat!  Many thanks!  You really captured those unique qualities that made Cassandra... quite a lady.

As for the other, words fail me.  But if I really struggle, "uncanny" comes to mind.  brrrr.

I don't know if anyone else will agree, but I think this composite photo looks rather like Lee Remick...

I'll agree with you, ClaudeNorth.  The composite does look like Lee Remick.  Does anyone have a photo of Ms Remick to compare side by side(maybe something from The Omen)?

I see what you mean about Lee Remick. But the composite also reminds me of two or three other actresses.  One is the girl who played Erin on The Waltons (Mary McDonough?). That's the only name that surfaces.  Pretty interesting little PhotoShop project though!  ;D

OMG, CastleBee! I'm [rofl10] after seeing that you've resurrected the Barn/Flying Nun pic as your avatar. I love it! (But you knew I would.  [b003]) The only thing is that I have no idea how I'll keep from lapsing into fits of laughter every time you post - even when it's in one of the forum's most serious topics.  :D
