Prof Stokes calling someone else "an insufferable egotist" is a bit rich, I must say.
I love how they make such a big deal about Barnabas' refusal to avail himself of any of the technological advancements of the modern age, then he drives over to Nicholas' place in Prof. Stoke's car (exactly when did he learn how to drive?).
Funny how the plotters all naturally assume that Adam and Eve are sleeping in separate bedrooms, though one of them does hint that Adam may be at least "visiting" Eve in her room late at night.
Does Barnabas give the most meager parties ever? No food, teeny tiny glasses of sherry - then, for the company, he invites the boor (or is it bore?) of the century (namely Stokes) to lull everyone into a catatonic state by going on and on about the history of the house and of the Collins family. It's clear that Nicholas just can't wait to get out of there. At least at Barnabas' earlier party, the guests got to wear costumes.
