Title: Blowing It
Post by: Gerard on June 25, 2003, 12:00:01 PM
In honor of MB's wonderful one-pic montage of the schnozz, I want to wish everyone a Happy Nose Day.  I will celebrate it in style, as I am afflicted with summer allergies, and I don't even need the putty to make mine look like that.  But I will use my special nasal spray (which I will now call Yaeger's Antihistamine) just for this occasion, along with lotion-enriched tissue for when I need to vacate it.

Well,I've always known that Yeagar had a nose for mischief, but ...

I need to make a copy of this image and put it somewhere safe so that when people ask about "special" effects on DS, I can show them a prime instance.  Provided you take "special" in the sense of not... quite... right...

Gee, do you think that they have a very good rhinoplasty specialist in PT Collinsport, ME?  I certainly hope so!

Incidentally, since we're on the subject of prominent proboscis(es?), I thought I was seeing John Yeager's younger brother during that Sci-Fi promo for the upcoming film, "Webs."  I mean, seeing the always understated and completely natural actor, Richard Grieco, with that long jet black hair, was just like seeing the simian-like Mr. Yeager without the moustache. (I wonder if Mr. Grieco gets thick, coarse hair on the back of his hands just like Cyrus Longworth's alter ego?)

Of course, Mr. Grieco is well remembered for his outstanding portrayal of a young , hip police detective in the great "21 Jump Street" FOX series.  And, I'm sure that Mr. Grieco's perfomance in "Webs," will do much to belie the totally unfair characterization of the dark-haired thespian as being "an acting legend in his own  mind."

One final note, Buffie Harrington's sometime boyfriend, Steve, sort of reminded me of a young, dark-haired Stanley Kowalski from "Street Car Named Desire."  I wonder if Steve wears what's widely known as an "Italian T-shirt" under that lumberjack coat and flannel shirt of his?

I remember that my late grandpa used to wear an "Italian T-shirt" as he tended to his tomatoes and eggplants in the backyard of his house.  Yes, it brings back memories of little "Bob" and Grandpa Joe, watering those eggplants and tomatoes on a hot summer day just like little Anthony and Grandpa Vito in "The Godfather." Ah, la dolce vita!

I think what he really needs at this point is a rhinoplaydough specialist.  [lghg]

I think he resembles what an offspring of Groucho Marx and Shelly Duvall might have looked like had they been a couple.  ;D

Hey gang,

Speaking of great schnozzolas, did you ever see former Cleveland Indian and Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Lemon's "snout"?  It's even better than actor Karl Malden's bulbous "growth" or Uncle Tonoose's prominent proboscis from the old "Danny Thomas Show."

By the way, if John Yeager slipped and fell on his face outside of the Eagle, with that noteworthy nose of his violently striking the hard ground, do you think that  Cyrus Longworth's "better" half would strike oil in Collinsport, ME?

PS Long live great baseball catcher, Ernie "The Schnozz" Lombardi, the presumptive uncle of Mr. John Yeager!!!

Glad you like my new avatar MB - hee hee.  I've been looking for a Bee suit for Halloween for the past couple of years but haven't been able to find anything I like yet.  One of these days I'll have to put something together myself - I'll no doubt do a ripoff of the classic SNL Killer Bees.  Until then, I thought I'd just make a cartoon of myself. Speaking of which...

All the talk about JY's nose and who he resembles takes me back to the last time this storyline aired.  I still think he looks like Clyde Crashcup!

Oh, my goodness, CB!  Clyde Crashcup!  Did that ever bring back childhood memories.  Now that's when they knew how to make cartoons.
