Bug report: Using the Halloween theme, I've noticed that in the latest versions of both Firefox and IE7 that the caption for the first slide of the daily slideshow is hidden until I click the "next" arrow button. The caption then appears right before switching to the next slide.

Yeah, the same thing happens in the SMF default theme, which the Halloween themes are based on. And unfortunately there isn't a way to fix it because of the way those scripts are written. The best thing to do is just click on the slideshow's forward button and then on the back button and the first caption will appear under the first capture in the slideshow. And also, these Halloween themes will only be in use until the end of October, so the slideshow will get back to normal in November.

I love it too! Reminds me of home.
I get a kick out of these guys who think they're so clean, when all the time they're trying to cover up their dirt.

I miss the big scary special emoticons though, the skull with the candle on it, etc..

Oh, they're coming.

They're back. And some new ones might show up as well IF I can remember where I put them. That's the problem when one finds things out of season and then one puts them "in a safe place."  [hall2_undecided]

Mystic Night, the previous default theme, has vanished into that mystic night.

And it has been replaced with Arcane Magic, a theme that was created for SMF by SMF member The Great Orator - though I've made several modifications to it, and I may make a few more.

Bug report: ... the caption for the first slide of the daily slideshow is hidden until I click the "next" arrow button. The caption then appears right before switching to the next slide.

... these Halloween themes will only be in use until the end of October, so the slideshow will get back to normal in November.

And so it has.  [hall2_wink]

The "new" designations are now very obvious!!  I hated the last one - it was SO hard to tell which were "lit up" and which weren't.  However, the actual "new" tag in the post listings isn't as clear.  Could that still be blue or something, like before?

By the way, the overall look is quite elegant!
