Joel Crothers: Stranger in a Strange Land
« on: November 08, 2016, 10:50:28 PM »
I was poking around on YouTube earlier and stumbled onto something quite by accident. There is a recording of Joel Crothers reading the Robert Heinlein book Stranger in a Strange Land. I haven't read the book so I can't say if this is an abridged version. But I was quite tickled that Joel did this. This jogged my memory and I seem to recall that Joel did several other ones back in the day. I don't recall specific titles, so I will need to research this further.
I don't know if any of the other actors did any of these. But apparently someone did a couple of the Marilyn Ross books.

What an interesting find. I'll definitely check it out once I get time.  [hall2_smiley]

Can you even imagine the Ross novels being read out loud?!  [hall2_undecided]

Unfortunately, MB, I can. At one of the first Newark festivals, two fans (who I won't name) gave a dramatic reading of selections from the collected works of Marilyn Ross. I actually had to leave the auditorium. And I usually have a high tolerance for that kind of absurdity. Usually.
