We say goodbye to two actors with this episode. Christopher Bernau did a very good job as Philip Todd and it's somewhat of a surprise that he didn't turn up as another character. Perhaps as Morgan? But his career went on quite nicely without any further DS credits.
As for Roger Davis, this particular appearance of Peter Bradford seems more suited to Tiger's wild eyed, frantic acting style. And, fortunately for all, it's only a short stay.
I am really enjoying Angelique here. Yes, she's still got quite a temper and acts capriciously but I am totally on her side here. I wasn't sure if Peter Bradford recognized her from 1795 or not. But I find it delicious that she is actually avenging the death of Victoria Winters, whom she quite despised. Interesting that she doesn't share this bit of information with Barnabas. Perhaps she never does.
Angelique is also a welcome guest at Collinwood. And why shouldn't she be? She extended herself to Elizabeth and Carolyn and the Rumsons would certainly be on a similar social level as the Collins family. With her powers back, she would certainly be able to make anyone and everyone forget any resemblance to Cassandra. Maybe she didn't need to. No one ever really figured out that Clark Kent was Superman. The experiences of the last few stories broadened and deeper the character, at least for me. I got the impression that Angelique Rumson was here to stay.
I am genuinely sorry that we see her again in 1840, she has reverted to vindictive bitch mode.
DC must have loved the cardboard cutout demon or whatever it is. We don't get to see the Leviathan creature but this thing gets much too much screen time.
Absolutely lovely scene with Elizabeth and Carolyn. It doesn't do much to advance the story but it captures the two ladies perfectly. A more traditional soap would have given Carolyn a more formal wedding, probably lasting a week or more. Unlike Victoria Winters, Carolyn at least gets to
go through with the ceremony.
