New York Viewing Party?

Us DS fans in the New York Area who can not afford to fly west for a one day event should coordinate and organize a get together  at a theatre in NYC, New Jersey, Westcheter or Long Island to see the movie at it's first possible showing. (midnight May 11th if they have it)

sounds good but im reading so many negative opinions from hardcore d.s. fans im wondering if the vista theatre event will be a success. i will be at the vista regardless but i live in los angeles.

Are you saying the movie has negative feelings? or the 'launch' premiere?

i meant the movie. so many hardcore ds fans seem to hate it already. will they even go to the vista to see it?

I think the event at the Vista will be a success because it's a bit more exciting then just going to a regular cinema to see the movie.  The atmosphere will be fun and hopefully everyone will get into the spirit of things and enjoy a fun evening.  It sounds like an awesome way to view the new movie and if I lived there I would be very excited and just have a blast.  What a great opportunity for Dark Shadows fans! Hope you all have fun~

What i am suggesting for us here on the East Coast who don't want to fly west for a one day event. We should find a big Theatre here in the New York Tri state area with a midnight opening on the 11th (if they have one) coordinate an unofficial event. Midnight here would be 9pm in Hollywood meaning we would be able to see the movie an hour ahead of the Vista showing at 10pm PDT.  Any suggestions for a good central location here in greater New York?

got my vista theatre tickets today. also came with it a letter announcing the festival at lyndhurst on july 28th to 29th with frid, parker and scott. no more info was given except for more info to send self addressed stamped envelope to po box 92 maplewood nj 07040. theres no info on www.darkshadowsfestival.com yet.
