Biggest Cheeseballs in Collinsport

Looking at the characters in the context of the show and times (mid 60's - early 70's) who do you think were the biggest nerds on DS and why.

My personal picks¢â‚¬¦

Guy: Jeb Hawkes when he was in his early hyper-groovy phase. [peace] [sick]

Girl: Carolyn during her late beatnick, early hippie Buzz phase.  [smokn] [twch2]

Both were nerdy to me because their characters seemed more cartoon-like impressions of what clueless middle aged (or older) writers thought cool was supposed to be.  (You know, like the funky music  ::) Opie and his pals danced to at those way out groovy teen parties on the final days of Andy Griffith).

Hmmm. I'm sure I will think of more when I post. I agree with you that the characters you named were only a stereotype, but at least they were TRYING to be cool. Vicky on the other hand seems to be imitating Elizabeth in her style. Frank Garner seemed pretty middle aged too. Though to be honest, I guess those who weren't stereotypical hippies then DID look middle aged.

Oh by far I believe the biggest nerd ever to grace the town of Collinsport was Sabrina Stuart. What a loser. I must respectfully disagree about Jeb Hawkes . . . he was groovy, baby!

Joe Haskell was kind of a nerd, albeit a handsome one, but sort of a doormat the way he let Carolyn walk all over him when they dated, and probably why Carolyn preferred the suave and sophisticated Mr. Devlin instead.

Also, there's Hallie Stokes . . . need I say more? :-X

I don't think Jeb was a total washout either - just at first (I guess he was pretty excited about growing up so fast! LOL).  When he slowed it down to about 75 MPH he was easier to take a little more seriously.   8)

Sabrina Stuart would easily win the award for Dullest Character Ever...  Even bringing the laugh-fest that was the Moon Poppy to Collinwood couldn't make up for her terminal dullness...

I always think that the writers were knowingly tongue-in-cheek where Buzz was concerned -- the whole "If you feel it, sit it..." vibe in that bribe scene with Jason is played for every laugh it can muster :)

Burke Devlin!!!!! He acts so big and bad, like he's the mayor of Collinsport.  He is such a nerd.

Vicki Winters.  "I don't understand"

And...Jeff Clark.

All three of them are NERDS!
Cassandra:  I have a potion.  You know it well.  As soon as she drinks it, within an hour, she will go to sleep and have the dream.
Nicholas:  I am much to talented to spend my time drugging drinks.

BUZZ...BUZZ...BUZZZ.... A nerd trying to me cool.  But what do expect from a small town in Maine.  Joe's looks saved him from being a Nerd.   Vickie was born middle age.
I must go to my room and rest.

Hi guys!...The biggest nerd I can think of right now to me would be the 2nd doctor Woodard. ::) He was so annoying to me.Oh and by the way....I was just wondering, since some of you were annoyed by certain characters(esp. Sabrina Stuart and Hallie Stokes) you guys don't necessarily have anything against the actresses do you?(Lisa Richards and Kathy Cody)Just Wondering.-Adra ;)

I'm trying not to laugh as I read some of this stuff, my daughter is asleep in the other room. I think the first Willie Loomis was a nerd. His pants were too short. When I was a kid, we used to call those high waters. Jennifer, I love nerdy Harry! He always dressed in nice clothes. :)

The biggest nerd was definetely PHILIP TODD!!

How can we all forget those checked plaid pants that he wore all time?? The first time I saw them, I died laughing! He reminded me of Mike Brady from the Brady Bunch![wow]

I didn't live then, buuuut in any case, I really don't c anyone on DS as a nerd. There are those who really piss me off sometimes, but I don't think anyone was a nerd.  :-/

I had to check the dictionary to see if nerd was the right word and sure enough there was a picture of David right there.  He has no friends and when he does get in trouble he calls for mother mother or some other such desperate plea for help.  He dresses in whatever someone else gives him to wear and  he would get killed if he ever did go to public school.  Yep David is a nerd.
