LOL! Wow. That was pretty damn amusing.

He didn't kiss me goodbye because my coffee sucks!

Yeah, I'd be showing him where he could stick his and the girls at work coffee.

Yeah, well that's how it was back in those days.  Remember the song by Andy Williams or was it Steve Lawrence singing about how... 'wives should always be lovers too because men at the office will always be men'?
One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.

Hey, little girl, comb your hair, fix your make-up, soon he will open the door,
Don't think because there's a ring on your finger, you needn't try any more.
For wives should always be lovers too,
Run to his arms the moment that he comes home to you.
I'm warning you,
Day after day, there are girls at the office and the men will always be men,
Don't stand him up, with your hair still in curlers, you may not see him again.
Wives should always be lovers too,
Run to his arms the moment he comes home to you.
He's almost here, hey, little girl, better wear something pretty,
Something you wear to go to the city,
Dim all the lights, pour the wine, start the music, time to get ready for love.
Time to get ready for love, yes it's time to get ready for love,
It's time to get ready, kick your shoes off, baby....,

Interesting. Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" came out in 1963, as did Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique.

You don't own me, don't try to change me in any way
You don't own me, don't tie me down 'cause I'd never stay

Oh, I don't tell you what to say
I don't tell you what to do
So just let me be myself
That's all I ask of you

I'm young and I love to be young
I'm free and I love to be free
To live my life the way I want
To say and do whatever I please

A-a-a-nd don't tell me what to do
Oh-h-h-h don't tell me what to say

Vicki should have most definitely sung those lines to Burke on more than one occasion.  ;)

(And actually, while by no means to the same extent it originally applied to men who dominated their women, nowadays it could work for both sexes because there are certainly more than a few controlling women who want to, uh, "mold" their men...)
