Catherine: "I don't care what you think, Bramwell. After the baby is born, I still plan on carrying out my career as a Lowell Girl in the textile mills in Massachusetts for five cents a day. It's not like I'm asking for the right to vote like those suffragettes."

([pointing-up] Indeed it was. And you don't have to tell me about Lowell Girls or women's clothing manufacturing because 1) I live in MA, and 2) and more importantly, my mom worked in women's clothing manufacturing almost all of her adult life. She was a member of The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union.)

Join in, MB: "Always look for the union label, when buying a shirt, blouse or dress. Always look for the union label..." Remember those ads?
Gerard
P.S. Damn, we're old.

([pointing-up] How could anyone forget those ads?! And I used to write my mom's number on those damn labels. She would come home with a roll of hundreds of them and I would write them and break them up into individual labels.)
