And speaking of screen caps, JLM had a few shirtless scenes in the Elementary finale, but I haven't had the chance to capture/post anything them from them yet. But as soon as I get the chance, I definitely will because I know there are certainly members here who would love to see them. [easter_cheesy]

Yes please  [easter_grin]  I know there are several of us who would enjoy this!  Much appreciated!  I didn't get a chance to watch the Zanuck thing- Miller is certainly a handsome devil even when he's bald   [easter_smiley]

I really enjoyed Elementary this season and can't wait to watch again next year.  I enjoyed the finale with Natalie Dormer-- if any here watch Game Of Thrones, she is also quite awesome in that as Margaery Tyrell.

I actually just did a Google search and found this article in the Chicago Tribune, by Liz Smith, from May of 2012:

Will Depp and Burton rise again with 'Dr. Phibes'?

Hmm, well, Liz Smith is certainly more reputable than a tabloid, but I still think she's mainly a columnist more so than a hard news reporter, and she was presenting this as a rumor in her article.  It does seem believable that they were pitching the idea to Burton/Depp, but even if they're interested, it seemed like less than a solid commitment as of last year.  On the other hand, the fact that there is still buzz about it a year later does seem to give it more cred.  (I honestly don't remember this rumor at all, but what can I say, my memory is terrible  [easter_tongue]  [easter_grin] )  So, thanks for pointing out that this was already mentioned last year, MB- I'm a little less skeptical now, but still will take a wait-and-see attitude for now.

Yes, excellent point Gothick, so it is still possible that the report is legit and it might be something that would film a few years from now.  But as I mentioned, it wouldn't happen any time soon.  I guess time will tell! MB, if you happen to find where it was previously reported, I'd be interested to see that.

Incidentally, and I'm sure it's been mentioned here, too- Johnny is also planning to star in a film version of The Night Stalker at some point, and I think they're already working on the script for that one.

Forgot to answer the question about The Thin Man- I don't know why that's been pushed back, either, but maybe it's because they didn't have a good script yet.  Also, I think Rob Marshall was going to direct that one, and he'll be busy with Into The Woods for awhile first.

Hey all-- the Dr. Phibes report comes from a tabloid-style source, so I am not really convinced this is for real.  There are often some crazy rumors going around for Johnny's potential upcoming films and only a fraction of them end up being legitimate.  Somehow, I'm a bit skeptical about this one unless we hear more from one of the major trades (Variety or Hollywood Reporter), or of course, from the horse's mouth.  It sounds almost like Tim or Johnny may have said it as a joke (like how Johnny always says he wants to play Carol Channing) and it got picked up as a real thing.  But that said, you never know- it could be true.

If this is indeed true, I think it will be awhile before it gets made.  Johnny is currently filming a sci fi  film called Transcendence in LA and New Mexico, and that will go through July.  In August, he's slated to start filming Black Mass, a movie about Boston crime boss Whitey Bulger.  Into The Woods will supposedly start in September in London, and we're kinda thinking that Johnny will shoehorn in his (small) role as the Wolf for Into The Woods in the middle of Black Mass filming (he's done double-duty a few times before).  After that, the ever-present Pirates 5 rumors are still in full force, with claims that it will begin filming in early 2014.  They even have a release date picked out- July 10, 2015- how they could plan a release date a year before the thing even starts filming is beyond me  [easter_grin]  Meanwhile, Burton is working on his new movie, Big Eyes.

I was a little concerned when I couldn't get on here yesterday- I'm glad everything is okay now.  Thanks for all your hard work, MB!

Sorry for the belated response, but congratulations, David!!!

Hah, diff'rent strokes, I guess  [snow_smiley]  I did have one quibble with one of the plot developments, but not enough to destroy my enjoyment of the movie.  It did get some awards attention, though I don't think it ended up with any major nominations.  I don't think it was *quite* awards-worthy, but I did enjoy it and thought it was a bit more innovative than the usual time-travel action film.

500 Days of Summer and 50/50 were others that I liked him in.  And, of course, Lincoln, though his role was relatively small in that one.

Dom, another great JGL movie is last year's Looper, with Bruce Willis.  A nice mind-bendy time travel story with a bit of a unique take.  JGL is great, and this sounds like a cool and different project for him- hope it does well!

Dark Shadows has been nominated for Best Horror Film from the Jameson Empire Awards (from the UK magazine Empire).  It's up against: Sightseers, Sinister (I haven't heard of these first two), The Cabin In The Woods, and The Woman In Black.  This is one that fans can vote for, and the Awards will be announced on March 24.  Good luck, DS!

His name is Gulliver (or Gully) McGrath.  I don't know how old he is, or much else about him.  But he had a very small non-speaking role in last year's film Hugo (a young boy who visits Melies's movie set with wide-eyed enthusiasm), and he also just played Lincoln's youngest son in Lincoln.  Cute kid!

Sorry to hear of his passing.  On my commute home last night, the DC area news station, WTOP, also cited DS among Conrad's credits, though it understandably spent more time talking about Diff'rent Strokes.  It was nice to hear a DS nod.
