We now have casting for Laura (not named as such), Sheriff Patterson (not named as such), youngest Barnabas, young Angelique, and Vicki's parents.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077368/fullcredits#cast

And the film is listed as being complete.  No mention of Art Wallace...

Thank you Cousin!  I haven't been checking the cast list lately, but I had noticed awhile back that Thomas McDonell ("Young Barnabas") had been kicked off the cast list and I was wondering if it was just an oversight or if he'd been cut from the film.  I think I spoke about this privately to a fellow forum member.  And then I forgot about it  [ghost_rolleyes]  But since this looks like a finished list now, and he's not listed, I guess he was indeed cut from the film, and if there has been mention of that here, I apologize as I must've missed it.  Instead, there is a Justin Tracy as "Young Barnabas - aged 6".  (Edited to add- now that I think about it, this may have been on the Depp board I'm on- someone saw an advance screening of DS and insisted that there was no such character as a ~20-ish Barnabas, just a little kid.  I had been puzzled to hear that, but I guess they decided not to include that time period.)

Victoria's parents are a little puzzling, but since there is a "Young Victoria" it may be a flashback scene, and maybe Vicki was still orphaned but just not as a newborn.  Or maybe she's not an orphan at all!

I was very excited for about 5 seconds when I saw the name Michael Shannon on the list, as "Board Member 2."  For a moment I thought this was the Michael Shannon who was the star of a terrific film last year, Take Shelter, and I think he's also on Boardwalk Empire, though I don't watch that show.  But alas, false alarm, as this is a different Michael Shannon.  The Michael Shannon I was thinking of probably wouldn't have been in such a small role, anyway, but I couldn't help but hope!

It's too bad that Art Wallace isn't mentioned.  Forgive me if I am unaware of the intricacies of that, but has he been undercredited all along?  I see that he was given credit for the '91 series.  Was there any kind of bad blood or anything after that?  Should Jim Pierson have seen to it that he got credited?

Even if they don't have live streaming, there will be a ton of photos and probably lots of interviews that will come out of it.  There will also be London and Tokyo premieres within a few days of one another.  I'm expecting a lot of coverage!

And thanks Uncle Roger for the tip about Alice performing.  That should be really cool (and Johnny, please play with him like you did last year, lol!)

Oops, too late to modify the above- I posted this after reading the article but hadn't actually watched the video, which is longer and actually has a bit more with both Bella and Chloe.  Chloe is so cute in talking about both Johnny and especially Michelle!   [ghost_smiley]

A friend of mine who manages a movie theatre saw a screening of the first 20 minutes of the film. This is apparently part of his job, as it was not a public screening. He's a DS fan, though not as devoted as any of us here. He was quite impressed with it, stressing that the humor is there, but is not as jarring in the context of the movie.

Thanks Uncle Roger, I'm crossing my fingers about this!

On another note, I think/hope this is new- a very brief tidbit from Bella Heathcote about her kissing scene(s) with Johnny:

Eva Green will be the lead guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday May 2 according to The Late Night TV Page - Talk Show Guest Listings http://www.interbridge.com/lineups.html
This site also has advance guest lists for four of the major daytime talk shows including Ellen and could be useful in the coming weeks.

Kimmel is apparently having a DS bonanza, because Chloe Moretz will guest (along with Kristen Stewart, vampire overload, lol!) on May 7, and Johnny on May 8. Chloe will also be on Letterman on the 3rd.

Thanks for the link, Brandon!  I got Carolyn Stoddard, strangely enough!  (I wish!  I'd like to get those ~40 years back  [ghost_grin] )  I didn't even give the answer about playing vinyl records.  I actually wanted to be Julia, since I'm a scientist, but I thought more of my answers were closer to Barnabas and Roger.  I'm guessing that my votes were split among many of the characters, but that's okay, I'll take Carolyn!  [ghost_cool]

I think I'll skip watching the new YouTube clips. (Though I will download them lest they disappear because they don't seem to have been uploaded by Warner Brothers, so who knows if they'll even allow them to remain on YouTube.

Egad, I hadn't thought of that!  I think I may do the same, in that case.  Just because I am beginning to feel a bit of overexposure- not necessarily for spoilers per se, but just in general- doesn't mean that I'm not greedy!  [ghost_tongue2]  So yeah, download now, watch later- sounds like a plan!

Wow, with all the tv spots and previews, and now these scenes on YouTube -- I think the entire movie is gonna be released in bits and pieces before the premiere.  LOL.   Seriously, haven't some other films been critisized for this type of promotion? Where most of the good stuff is released, sorta making the film anti-climactic?

Yeah, I agree to an extent, which is why I mentioned the other day that while I don't mind hearing a spoiler or two, I would rather "tread lightly" on them at this point.  I think what I really meant to say was that I just don't like to see too much of the movie before actually seeing the movie!  Of course I love to see bits and pieces- a trailer, some TV spots, some stills, but when it gets to be TOO much, I find myself instinctively pulling back a little bit.  It's a fine line!  So I think that I will defer on watching those YouTubes, as tempting as they are, until after I see the film, but thanks so much Sara for posting the links!  I know that I will want to go check them out after I've seen it!  And thanks also for the DVD release info- we have a ways to go until then, but the timing sounds just about right so I'll bet Sept. 26 will end up being right!

I didn't have a chance to fool around with the sound so it will probably have the same problems playing in Quicktime.

Yeah, Quicktime once again didn't have sound for me, but fortunately, VLC once again worked great!  Thanks so much for this clip, which I didn't know about, and all the other goodies you've shared, MB!

Apologies if this was already posted- I don't think so- Coming Soon now has a 4 page DS photo gallery, and while many are familiar, about 6 or 7 of the stills were new to me.

Thanks as always everyone for the screen captures and all the updates.  I'm not completely avoiding spoilers but I'm trying to tread a little lightly on them, if that makes any sense, so I am not sure I know what y'all are referring to.  But after I see the movie I look forward to reading over this thread again!

On another note, apologies if this has been mentioned but I don't think I've seen it- the WaterTower (Warner Bros) Music page now has sound snippets of the DS Soundtrack:

The 18 second-long Depp track of The Joker is simply him as Barnabas, reciting the lines to the Steve Miller refrain.  Kind of cute, but I actually was hoping he'd be doing some mad guitar riff on the song  [ghost_cool]  Oh well.  I still don't see a preorder for a domestic release on amazon.com; it is listed as an import at over $40, which is very puzzling.  Unless the price comes down to a reasonable level, I think I will have to make do with the Elfman score (which I've already preordered) alone.

Of all the nights I picked to not check in before bedtime  [ghost_tongue2]  Oh well.  I think the DC showing is the same night/theater as another contest I entered, so let's see if that one will pan out.  Congrats to any who might've gotten something!

Thanks so much for the latest video spot, MB!  For some reason, I didn't get any audio when I tried to play it in Quicktime, but it worked just fine using VLC media player.  I love Johnny's phrasing when he says the "biggest balls" line- I don't feel that it's too over the top  [ghost_cool]

miss moretz seems like a young actress of great promise...

i hope she doesn't typecast herself quickly into the "horror" genre. as we know that can be a difficult place to find one's way out of.

I was thinking the same thing, michael c-- Kick Ass (not horror, but still dark fantasy), Let Me In, DS, Carrie.  However, at least she's had a few other non-horror roles-- Hugo, and errrrr.... well, I think there was another film that she was promoting this past year but I can't think of it  [ghost_tongue2]  I'm hoping that since she's gotten great reviews from critics for her acting, and not just for the films themselves being popular, that her great potential will continue to be recognized.

Since I didn't read Carrie, I was unaware that she was supposed to be chubby and have acne.  This reminds me of the description of the teenage boy in one of King's other novels, Christine.  In fact, I seem to remember a lot of his characters having acne, lol!  But I did think that Sissy Spacek looked quite homely in Carrie (sorry Sissy, I think you're beautiful otherwise!) so at least for me, I think I got the main gist from Sissy's portrayal.  Hopefully they won't glamorize Chloe.

Thanks ProfStokes for your description of the Festival Of Books.  I've heard one radio interview of SGS and agree that he comes across as very down to earth and pleasant.  I've liked his few interviews in the written press, as well.  I imagine his lack of animation on the panel may have to do with not wanting to speak in front of crowds.  I can definitely identify with that.  I was extremely shy as a kid, and my worst fear was that the teacher would pick on me to answer a question, or that I would have to give a speech in front of the class.  As an adult, as a research scientist, I have to give presentations to groups at least once or twice a year, and after doing it so many times I've gotten used to it to some extent, but the feeling never completely goes away.  I have been told I appear to be very calm and natural, and I feel *mostly* calm, but definitely not natural.  Whereas if I am explaining something to someone one-on-one, I feel totally different.  Perhaps SGS is a little like that.

I read Abraham Lincoln-Vampire Hunter last year while on vacation with my sister.  She was mocking me for reading a book with such a title, and at first I thought it was going to be just a lark.  But as I got into it I thought it was quite well done and actually pretty serious- at least as much a historical novel as a horror one.  I told her that she would probably like it if she could just get past the title, but she wasn't buying it :)  I don't know if it'll be your cup of tea, ProfStokes, but I hope it'll be worth the purchase.  I myself look forward to the movie.

Thanks MB and all for your descriptions of the new TV spot.  I haven't seen it yet but I've been seeing various TV spots more often lately, even though I'm not watching a great deal of TV right now.  Johnny and Tim do like to make little off-color puns, and as MB described, often they're not played for out-loud laughs, but rather in the vein of making you think, "wait, did they just say that?" I just think that it's part of their sense of humor, for better or for worse- I myself love 99% of them and do have about 1% that I groan at- hopefully DS will be more among my 99%!

I was just finally watching Friday's Ellen and they promoted that Johnny Depp will be on in May. And I could be wrong - and I'm sure madscntst will correct me if I am - but I don't think Depp has ever been on the show before.

Nope, he never has!  He did the old Rosie show several times, Oprah once, and of course both Leno and Letterman multiple times.  Even Arsenio back in the day.  But not Ellen, and I think it'll be a great fit!  (Not that I ever watch Ellen, unless I'm home sick from work or something, but I just like her laid-back banter and think it'll be fun.  I did hear that he'd be on, but I haven't heard of a date yet, so hopefully we'll know soon!
