Thanks for posting this, I enjoyed reading it! I always see it mentioned that Frid was not a fan of the darker version of Barnabas in HODS. It makes me wonder if he attempted to alter the script at all. One would assume that he read it and agreed to be part of the film knowing how Barnabas was being portrayed. Perhaps his objections went unanswered due to the tone Curtis was going for in the film?
