Later on he did, in the late 70's, not long before he passed away. I have Craig's promo photo, and that's exactly who I thought of when I saw it, Bobby Sherman.

Yes, Cheryl I agree. I always thought that Craig looked great in that photo. :)

I also hated how they just left his character off. And then they got that replacement for just one episode, which made no sense at all to me.

Maybe Craig Slocum was unavailable for that episode for some reason.  They didn't make an announcement on the cast change during the title sequence.

Edward Marshall, the second Harry Johnson played a young Ezra Briathwaite in 1897.

There are a few characters on DS who disappear on DS without explanation...Harry Johnson, Tony Peterson, Frank Garner, Magda, Buffie Harrington.

The most likely scenario is that Harry left Collinwood during the time Barnabas was in 1897, probably because there was nothing to do there anymore.

You're right about that. Now Magda was a good character on the show and I hated how they just left you hanging as to what happened to her.

...he seemed, IMHO, miscast playing tough guys.  I can't really imagine CS as someone who served time...Chatsworth Osborne III on "Dobie Gillis"...another sort of character I think CS would have played very well.

I've noticed Craig Slocum seemed to have an upper crust Boston type accent. Almost like he'd be better suited to playing a yacht club guy in a crested blazer.

You know: Thurston Howell IV, as it were...or is that close to the Dobie Gillis character?
BARNABAS: Here at Collinwood, old hates don't die. They lie in wait for the innocent and unsuspecting...

QUENTIN: We're guaranteed to make you believe (spells) exist. Our entire family can be explained in no other way...

i never liked the Harry character but would have liked to see him play another role! also could have seen him as doing the Aristede part too!

jennifer

No, I do not agree... Michael Stroka was perfect for the role of Aristede.
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

Actually, it was his New York accent that you heard. He was from N.Y. and lived there. :)

Yes, Craig was a native New Yorker, he lived on the Upper East side of Manhattan.

I have a large collection of teen mags, and don't recall Craig being featured at all in "16" or Tiger Beat at the time.

Now I would have written about him, only because the temptation to give in to the name Slocum giving itself to rude "typo" would have been simply overwhelming.
