Congrats, Sally! About the SciFi BBoards-- for a scifi site, it's about time they come into the 21st century. ::)
I started posting there in the Fall of 1996 and it's where I met MB, Sheenasma, Nicky, Gothick, RobinV, and other cousins here. Nicky started the Creative boards (as WickedNick), and I think it was RobinV and PadreJim (Ash) who had started the Lighter Side BBs. From there I jumped directly to our own board on VantageNet. Those original scifi boards seem to have disappeared, so it appears that era has come to an end. :(

Now, Midnite....MB has said himself he never used to 'talk' online; and I remember he was a very quiet dude a few years back.
How oh how did you two start a board since he is quiet???
(Sally, for you...I'll let you in on a secret; on an older board, occassionally people...probably like Gothick & Bobubas would post something Mysterious Benefactor and I thought it was an 'inside joke'..... ??? )

Definitely. besides being one of my favorite sequences on DS, I have fond memories of that year on the Internet. I'd already been online for a year back then, but 1995 was the year I went from lurker to active poster in online fandom. And the rest, as they say, is history. But geez, 4,800 and 14.4K baud modems - it's hard to believe that we actually managed to do anything at those sluggish speeds - especially with computers than only ran at 75MHz. How times have changed! Makes you wonder what innovations the next 8 years will bring...

That's only because back then, between putting together montages, Robservations captures, and doing my work on the forum's system, I barely had the time to breathe, much less post. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of what I was doing - but it didn't leave me much time to post unless it was to answer questions about the forum's system. ;) Nowadays I have a bit more time, so I manage to post more often. :)
