Title: OT<Boris Karloff
Post by: Patti Feinberg on December 29, 2018, 04:45:29 AM
Has anyone ever seen an anthology series called, "The Veil"?

IMDb states it was never shown on TV.

I want to know if it's worth the $10.

Thanks,

Patti

Patti, it looks like the series is on YouTube for no charge, if you want to check it out. I will probably do that over the weekend.

Thank you!

Would I just go to YouTube & type in The Veil? Does there need to be quotation marks around title?

Again, thanks a lot....I'm going to try now!

I always check Youtube, and other sites such as DailyMotion, now before I buy DVDs. In some cases, I do want the disc anyway, but I've become much more selective in recent years.

Best, G.

In Jan of '11, I had heard DVD were going to stop being so mass produced.
Then, I got busy.

I've checked on older movies, sometimes you get a 'OOP', and we'll only make a copy from the master when you purchase it. (OOP=Out of Print.)

My daughter 'binges' on stuff like AHS; I had never seen it before the end of AHS Season 4.
I don't like 'carny' type stuff, but I purchased Seasons 1-3, Season 5, 6, and waiting for season 7 (waited for price to come down, as it was only half a season).
I love love LOVE owning TV series; I have Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girls, Veronica Mars, the above mentioned AHS', Heroes, both seasons of True Detective, Downton Abbey.
Also, I own all the currently for sale Jesse Stone movies, all but first Star Trek movies ('Veja, Vejar').
I've recently mentioned the 3 British spooky series I own.
Also, I buy movies I don't know anything about, but which are current. I pre-ordered Gone Girl, Dark Skies, am waiting for A Simple Request.
Thanks for letting me vent to movie lovers, most of us who like a real copy.
Sure, I watch Flix/Prime/Hulu, but, when there's a storm, ha ha, I've got DARK SHADOWS!!!

I think the death of physical media five years ago (or however long it's been) was greatly exaggerated.

Streaming is convenient--when it works. Providers and rights owners are constantly pulling content or shifting stuff around. The whole point of physically owning a show or a film is, you get to watch it whenever you wish to do so. The whole shift to subscriptions that you have to pay "for all eternity" to quote our favorite Witch is nobody ever gets to own anything.

Maybe that's part of the reason why DVDs and Blu Rays continue to be popular, at least within the niche market of people who are film and TV buffs or collectors.

cheers, G.
