Show him things that were too explicit for The Kama Sutra

Revisiting more of how Scene 174 is scripted:

Continuing with more of Scene 174 with regard to Claire's actions:

She looks at the portrait.

And that's when today's quote -

Page 81/Scene 174 - Claire: 'I still don't see how showing Quentin that is going to make him leave here.'

- comes up.

And when it comes to the dialogue, Claire actually says "I still don't see how showing him that is gonna make him leave here" - and as can be seen in today's capture -

- Claire actually delivers the line off screen.

And when it comes to the descriptions and the directions, there's nothing that's different.

[pointing-up]  And as far as "today's quote" goes, it was May 9th's this time around.

[spoiler]Today's quote:
Ep #1079 (1970) - David - 'We seek the spirits who know about this room. The spirits who will tell us what we MUST know.'

From  "#1078/1079: Robservations 08/25/03: The Face in the Photo"
The kids return to the playroom, Hallie's arm in a sling. How's the arm? asks David. It hurts, she says--David, you promised to tell me why we had to come here again!  Remember when I told you there were some things we had to find out?--there's a way we can--we're going to hold a seance, just the two of us, here in this room. He begins clearing off toys from a table. Hallie objects--I don't know anything about seances. You don't have to, he assures her, I know all about seances--I've seen the grownups do it a lot of times (!!!!!)  I'm scared, she says.  There's nothing to worry about as long as you do exactly as I tell you to, he says. Why can't we do it somewhere else? she asks. Everything started to happen once we first came to this room, David reminds her, so this is the logical place to hold it. He drags over some chairs, lights a red candle in the middle of the table and turns off the electric lights--sit down, he says. She does, reluctantly. Put your hands on the table, he says, let them touch mine--the most important thing is, don't break contact--do you understand? She nods. David looks upward and says, "We seek the spirits that know about this room, the spirits who will tell us what we must know--there are questions that have to be answered--why are you so disturbed?--what do you want from us?--can't you please give us a sign?" They hear wind, and the sci fi noise, terrifying Hallie.  "Let us live! Let us live!" cries a voice that sounds much like David's, over and over. "LET US LIVE!" Both kids look horrified.

Again a Robservations doesn't reference the quote perfectly, but it does do so quite well with the exception of one word ("that" instead of the correct "who")...

And this is the second quote from this ep. The first (David - 'You MUST have bumped it when you fell down') was back on April 9th of 2021.

And a forewarning: Midnite informed me that there are other "must" quotes in Ep #1079 that are still available, ones from Julia, Quentin, and David, and they're all delivered in extreme closeup! Though that didn't surprise me in the least once I saw that Henry "I love to shoot up actors' noses" Kaplan directed that ep. It should prove quite interesting to see what sort of screen captures appear if/when any of those remaining "must" quotes might show up in the slideshow!  [easter_wink] [easter_cheesy]

B: Look Strake,  you better come up with something or I'll fire you and hire that other private investigator... What's his name Barnabas Jones?

Maybe Claire, knowing her husband's appetite, had prepared sandwiches in advance and kept them in the refrigerator. In a Tupperware container, of course.

And once again you may have hit on something - I can definitely see that as a possibility. I mean, given the way things play out so quickly in the script with regard to Claire preparing the sandwiches and getting the coffee going, she would have otherwise have to have been a genius at putting together sandwiches so amazingly quickly.

And speaking of Tupperware, something just hit me: If Claire and Alex really were as broke as Alex claimed on the night they had dinner at Collinwood with Tracy and Quentin, the perfect solution could have been that Tracy and Quentin wouldn't have abandoned the tradition of serving tea in the drawing room and those continued tea events could have been combined with Tupperware parties hosted by Claire to make extra money!  [easter_wink] [easter_grin]  It would have been a win-win. But alas, no one lived long enough for them to do it. Oh well. But can you just imagine the scene, though - especially how Carlotta would have most likely looked on disapprovingly!!  [easter_cheesy]
