******** UPDATING: DARK SHADOWS ISLAND WEEKEND – APRIL 27-28, 2013
NOTE: As SG previously reported, there are no plans for a standard Dark Shadows Festival convention this year. Instead, there are 2 special events for you to enjoy with DS guests and other fans.
SG Official Online DS News Updates have detailed the first-ever "Dark Shadows At Sea Cruise," where fans will join 3 original DS actresses for a week of sailing from the NYC area to the Bahamas, Oct. 27-Nov. 3. ((See previous and upcoming SG Online Updates))
Also, SG Online News Updates have announced and reported that original DS actors will join fans for a 2-day event the weekend of April 27-28 on Coronado Island, just five minutes across the bridge from downtown San Diego.

---- SG Premiere-Announces A New Guest And More
The Island Weekend opens with the world premiere of the psychological thriller movie DOCTOR MABUSE, at the historic Coronado Village Theater. DS' JERRY LACY stars in the title role. Also in the cast are DS' LARA PARKER and KATHRYN LEIGH SCOTT.
DOCTOR MABUSE premieres on Saturday evening, April 27. Following the film is a special "Dark Shadows Surprise" screening. There also will be a talk / panel with Jerry, Lara, Kathryn, DOCTOR MABUSE filmmaker / director / writer (and DS fan) Ansel Faraj, and other cast members. Guests will be available for autographs.

**** The Island Weekend continues the next day – Sunday, April 28 – with the DARK SHADOWS LUNCHEON that afternoon.
In addition to Jerry, Lara, and Kathryn, we will be joined by DS' DAVID SELBY, who will present a new dramatic reading with live music. Also with us on Sunday is DS' CHRIS PENNOCK.

For California residents and others traveling by rail, Amtrak and local train service is available to downtown San Diego, just minutes by taxi from Coronado Island. San Diego International Airport is only minutes away, with van, bus, and taxi service available. Major interconnecting freeways provide easy access to the entire area.

The Coronado Village Theatre is a wonderfully-restored vintage cinema (opened in 1947). In 2011, it was converted into a triple-screen movie theatre with auditorium murals that create a 3D effect of historic places in both Coronado and nearby Balboa Park. Both the theatre and hotel (see below) are very close to Old Town San Diego / the "Gaslight District" with shops, restaurants and more, Sea World, Balboa Park (San Diego Zoo, museums, Old Globe Theatre, and much more), Pacific Ocean beaches and activities, and other nearby sights and attractions.
