[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Set-up:
Joshua was so very confused, so much of the time these days. What had that Lt. Forbes really meant, he asked himself befuddledly, when he had said that his musket had plenty of custard to go around? Did he perhaps intend to __________?
-
Impersonate Ricochet Rabbit.
-
...feed the poor out of the goodness of his heart?
...knit me a new orange beanie?
...marry my pet frog Stanley?
...run for governor?
...attempt to impregnate all of Collinsport's women by "magic"?
-
...knit me a new orange beanie?
(LOL. Congrats on reaching four digits, RQ!)
-
Heck I just noticed that Magnus!! Thanks! I'll try to keep it going...

(Just keep staggering on as a good robot should...)
-
That's all one can do sometimes... Or most of the time it seems. Just keep chugging along, hoping the batteries don't give out anytime soon!! [knockwood]
-
[laughing7], Uncle Roger and RoboQ!!
-
Did he perhaps intend to open up a confectionary stand to express his sense of enterprise?
Did he perhaps intend to attack Logansport rather unwisely, with runny, liquified ammunition?
-
[pointing-up] I think we all know what Forbes' real meaning was - it's just that no one is willing to go there! [b003] Either that, or Joshua is more clueless than any of us ever imagined!! [lghy]
-
(I think Joshua is just that clueless, plus if you just go with the implied response, it can be seen too "obvious", and therefore not worth posting, unless there's a good play on words. I think that's why we hold back.)
-
(Though at times the obvious answer is always going to be the best answer. And there's always a way to make the obvious answer interesting. [wink2])
