If I were Dan Curtis, I'd have fired Addison Powell right then and there. Forgetting words and even whole lines was part and parcel of Dark Shadows, and usually the cast managed to get past it without making the proceedings totally asinine. But there Addison was, Mr. Helpful, Mr. Officious, and he just had to tell the world that he knew Frid's lines better than Frid did.

Actually no, she wasn't. According to what writer Ron Sproat told fans at a very early con, Liz was NOT slated to be her mother.
Sorry it took so long to get back to this. I'll spare you the details but, a couple of days after my last post, I fell on my deck (slick from 40 days and nights of rain) sprained my wrist, bruised my knee, wrenched my back and for my grand finale - broke my nose. Klutz-o-rama Fest 2007.

I'm curious as to what emotional responses you had or what your critical perceptions were regarding the use of the Dark Shadows music in non-DS programs ... did most fans think it was fun and a treat, or cheap and tired?
Also how aware were fans when non-DS Dan Curtis projects aired (like Blaisedon and Dr. Jekyll) and did you notice when the DS started using that music afterwards as well?
i read somewhere(he we go with gossip and speculation)that the idea that vicki might have been elizabeth's daughter was not even part of the show's original plotting.it was noted during auditions how closely alexandra moltke resembled joan bennett and then it just added another layer to the storyline...which of course went unresolved.
I agree with Jackie. I would think that DCP would somehow have to be involved in these discussions.
If a network wants to broadcast a program, don't they have to get permission from the owners... in this case DCP? And if so, wouldn't they go to Jim Pierson with the request? I'm not sure how this works.
