Chiller certainly has a weird way of showing its series. But I suppose they do it deliberately so that 1) too much of a day's schedule isn't taken up by one series, and 2) people are forced to tune in more than one day to see a show they're interested in and thus they'll probably get greater exposure to what types of other programs Chiller offers.

But I dont get why they do marathons of the same 10 series again and again to the exclusion of all others.

Maybe those ten are the only series they have the rights to show? Or being owned/operated by NBC/Universal, would they automatically have the rights to all of NBC's and Universal's back catalogue of series? I've never really paid much attention to how Chiller operates.  [idontknow]

If they have access to the entire back catalogue, then that is strange because one would think they'd have access to dozens of horror themed shows...

Though it certainly isn't a bad thing that they show the '91 DS so often.  [wink2]

Im glad they show it, but how about the original? And Karloff/Thriller, which they own along with all the Universal monsters!

Unfortunately, the original DS isn't an NBC/Universal show, so they may never show it if they won't show programming that only falls into that category of production.  :(

The great thing is that any version of DS is regularly being shown on TV.

Speaking of Chiller, the Brian Clemmens(Sp) version, I'm viewing Season 1 (rented from Blockbuster).  What a hoot to see the great clothes from the early 70's.  Some of the stories are complex and you don't see blood or guts.  Recently viewed Donna Mills and Judy Carne as two college students living in a boarding room house.  A coven of witches run things.  Really quite good! Highly recommend if you like things from the 70's.

Hi Miss Winthrop, that series is actually called Thriller.  Some of the episodes were shown in a later evening slot (maybe on Thursday nights?) as the ABC Mystery Movie, I believe.  (The same slot in which Grayson's lost film with Diana Davila, The Two Deaths of Sean Doolittle, aired.)

I am hoping to get the remainder of the shows from the UK, since A & E never issued any of the remaining episodes over here in the US.  I love Diana Dors' episode, The Devil's Web (aka "Nurse will make it better")--it has a very DS feel to it...

I am thinking of upgrading my package on satellite to get Chiller.  Do they have a pretty good selection of shows/movies?

Oops! You're correct.  I had the name wrong.  I understand that the entire season 1 is on dvd.  So far I've seen about 9 episodes from the first season.  There is one with John Carson (from Hammer fame) who is a murderer who has forgotten the women he killed in the past and now is intent on killing his current wife but is not aware of it. I'm hoping that remaining seasons end up on dvd.

I watched a little of the 91 series on Chiller since I have the series on VHS. But I just bought the 91 series on dvd for only $11.96. I was reading the reviews on Amazon and somebody said that Adrian Paul was picked to play Quentin on the 2nd Season.

I don't know if somebody else mentioned that on this board.

It took me nearly 20 years to find out who was going to play the part of Quentin. During the remake back in 91, I could'nt wait to find out who was going to play Quentin and how they were going to do the special effects of the Werewolf.
