[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Set-up:
Every time Mrs. Johnson became convinced that she could fly, she would ___________.
-
...later end up face down and bleeding on the foyer floor after taking the short way down from the 2nd floor.
-
...vow to stop stealing Roger's brandy, go to bed and sober up.

...later end up face down and bleeding on the foyer floor after taking the short way down from the 2nd floor.
(You mean Mrs. Johnson isn't Peter Pan, Callie? NO!!!!)
-
(Lol! Sad but true.)
-
(I'm divesting myself of all my green leotard stock immediately!)
-
[laughing4] at all. (Including the comments. ;))

Prepare to compete against Sister Bertrille

[pointing-up] [spin] [thumbleft]
Barnabas could have his own convent: (http://www.dsboards.com/images/FlyingVampire.jpg)
-
Perhaps the "fun convent" where a certain Sister Brazil resided in a memorable Mad Magazine piece.
-
([pointing-up] I'm sure I read that back in the day because I bought or at least always checked out Mad Magazine, but I don't remember a thing about that piece. [hall2_sad] [hall2_cry])
-
I'm afraid that I don't remember much about the actual parody. I remember that it appeared in TV Guide to illustrate Mad's tv parodies. Star Trek and Lost in Space were also included. I wonder why Mad never did a DS parody. [hall2_undecided]
-
run up and down the stairs making airplane sounds whilst holding a bagel in her mouth

I wonder why Mad never did a DS parody. [hall2_undecided]
(Good question! DS was certainly ripe for parody, as well as the type of show Mad Magazine would parody. But alas...)
-
The one that appeared in Spoof magazine (I think that's the name of the magazine) wasn't very good.
-
([pointing-up] Certainly not up to Mad's standards.)
-
Not really up to the standards of My Weekly Reader.
-
([pointing-up] Well , it had it's moments. But, yeah...)

Assume the identity of Post Menopausal Supergirl

Assume the identity of Post Menopausal Supergirl
(Man, that is one catchy superheroine name.)

I love, Love, LOVE IT!! [rofl10] [thumbleft]

Thank you, guys. I expect that her kryptonite would be Hellman's Mayonnaise.

I expect that her kryptonite would be Hellman's Mayonnaise.
(Most definitely!! [stfl])
-
Yes, i can see her in jeopardy, pleading with Maggie the waitress for help. "Not for a 10 cent tip, you J-E-R-K."
-
([pointing-up] That's too, Too, TOO FUNNY!! [rofl10])
-
Waitress era Maggie could be pretty snarky.
-
([pointing-up] And it's too bad she lost that! But then, too many of the female characters lost some if not all of their edge once Art Wallace left the scene... [sad3])
-
Which is odd in a genre that is targeted largely at females.

Which is odd in a genre that is targeted largely at females.
(It's not odd when there's someone like DC calling the shots!! [nodno] ::))
-
All too true! While there were indeed some inspired casting choices, several of DC's pets were, to put it politely, dramatically challenged.
-
([pointing-up] Ya think!! [lghy] Plus DC frequently bragged that he had no idea how to write a soap opera. But he didn't really have to tell anyone that because all too often it was blatantly obvious...)
-
Something else that is very, very true.
-
([pointing-up] And very sad!! [sad1])
-
In some aspects, the program succeeded because of DC. But, in others, it succeeded in spite of DC. [easter_cry]
-
But, in others, it succeeded in spite of DC. [easter_cry]
(If any of us had a nickel for every time we'd heard that, we'd be independently wealthy now - mostly because it's so true!! [nodassent])
-
If I bit my tongue every time I heard someone describe DC as a genius or a better director than Hitchcock, I would likely have turned into a cannibal.
-
([pointing-up] Sad - but very true!!)
