Thanks for the report, it sounds like it was a pleasant event.

You know, I think they do know when they run into a fan elsewhere, even if you don't say you are. There's probably some look in our eyes or an aura of subdued excitement or something that sets off the fan radar.

I think it's probably more pervasive when female fans (and I guess some of the guys  >:D) meet some of the gentlemen from the show (David Selby, Jim Storm, just to name two) because we tend to want to throw ourselves at them.   It's hard to cover that up!    ::)
Buzz-isms:

"I like the bike I got, & the chick I got!"
"I know just the place!?Over in Logansport!"
"If ya feel it, SIT it!"
"Come on, before he offers me a side car too!"
"Her nose needed some powder!"
"You askin' me to give up something I like?"

::Laughing Out Loud:: Oh My God. Ain't that the truth. David Selby is STILL the only man I have ever met that gave me the shakes when I spoke with him. I have a picture floating around of the two of us at the 2001 Fest and you've never seen a more genuine grin on my face let me tell you.  ;D

that's so true arashi.

it's a very strange sensation when you meet one of "them" for the first time.the first d.s. actor i ever met in person was diana millay at the 2003 fest.for some reason she had her table set up before anyone else.as it happened i had recently completed the laura collins storyline(which i adored)so i was just mesmerized by her.

later that weekend when i met nancy and kathryn i had that same feeling.but these actors were attending an event held for d.s. so they were probably expecting intense fan reaction.

as for the event with alexandra like i said she was polite.but still something told me she somehow knew i wasn't exactly a huge fan of documentaries about community gardens.

i kept my cool...but you guys know how creamy i think victoria is. ::)

It was a nice documentary; the opening segment camera work seemed a bit claustrophobic to me but that changed and the later commentaries were interesting--i'm very interested in some unexplored green spaces in NYC.

There is a mention of Alexandra Isles' documentary in Liz Smith's column of June 23rd. It's a little more than halfway down.

Here is a huge news flash for those that have Direct TV (not sure if LINK TV is on cable or not).  Alexandra's Moltke's new documentary, The Healing Gardens of New York, is coming to all coasts starting Friday, August 19 at 9PM PT.  To check the times and scedule in your area click this link.  Then, you'll want to click on the P, M, C or E which is Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern.  Voila you know the time in your area, set your VCR/TIVO.

For those of us not in New York, this is a great thing.  I'm really glad I had my TIVO search for it!
